    Hi People!
I´m in love with Korg Zero4! lol
What do you think about the ideia of make zero4 as a dedicated controller for traktor pro..no timecoded envolved.... Replacing my vci-100 that only control 2full decks and with the zero4 i could control 4 full decks..each one in each channel....heard about problems with pre listening....

What do you think about that?

    Regards

Done it,very possible and very clean. You end up giving up a channel so you can use your headphones for cueing. It's even possible to set up fader start for each deck. In the end I wanted to keep using timecode at home so I went back to Audio/MIDI mode.

Thanks Telly but can you explain better how can i give up a channel if i´m only 4 and i want to use 4 decks at same time (no always of course).... im used to cvi-100 and its "plug and play" should zero4 behave like that?.....i have the money to buy the mixer but im a little confused..

    Thanks again..

If you're using internal mixer mode you can do 4 decks but have to use one of the outputs to monitor, meaning you will need to use it in AUDIO or AUDIO/MIDI mode in order to assign it to the non-MIDI headphone section of the Zero4.

You COULD of course run in external mixer mode. You'd give up fader start and a good deal of MIDI control (ie the EQ knobs, fader assign buttons, channel fader MIDI output) but you could use the line switch to run your transport functions (play, cue, cue-play). I do this at weddings where I don't need turntables. But I use a Trigger Finger to run my transport functions as my TSI uses the switches for FX and track loading.

Bigz, if you want to get started on how to configure a TSI, read up on the Traktor Bible's MIDI mapping and then check out the TSI I created in the controllers section... my Zero4-using friends have taken that and reverse-engineered it to make their own:

If after that you need some help we can spend some time on it. I'm really busy with holiday and wedding stuff right now so I'm tough to get a hold of for any extended amounts of time.

That is correct, the Zero4, being a Scratch-certified mixer, does not require any additional audio interfaces to enable timecode control on Traktor Scratch Pro. Everything I've been saying doesn't really make much sense until you actually get your hands on it and play around with the MIDI config - there's a lot to learn but it's well worth it when you get it running properly.

Hi telly, any chance you can post your internal mixing mode with fader starts just got a zero4 this week. So far have been playing with timecodes which is great and have so many ideas for when i get chance to get them mapped! But i also do weddings and i'm looking into the possibilities of just using this mixer / or maybe with an X1 or 1D?

Any help would be gratfully recieved, been a while since i mapped my total control!
