I believe that we humbly request a new layout!
We dont want you to get into trouble while changing fonts and so on!
But if it would be possibile to position things in a more intuitive and friendly way!
like a quick drawing i;ve made!
How does this look like? ;)

    Cheers guys!

That is a pretty impressive edit. I second this. If you are afraid of losing a user base that is used to the old look, make it an option. Whil I don't look at the screen while playing, when I do have to look at it, it does feel a bit archaic.

Also, would love to see a grid/edit mode similar to serato's offline mode. Prepping tracks with all 4 decks up is a bit messy.

agreed! by this point in time, there's no reason why traktor can't look like your rendition

in fact, i have suggested that there be at LEAST 10 different layouts, with the ability to customize them on an item by item basis, not just in groupings

With the use of Pioneer controllers and all the features easily accessible be nice to have all those features on the GUI. Like for example the pads definitely need to change. Being able to add colors, comments, memory cues etc

For me the traktor layout is perfect, it's pragmatic and does what it needs to do. However Retina Support would be very nice.

I use Traktor both as a gigging DJ/turntablist and in a broadcast situation. I find the ability to create different screen configurations depending on what/where I am DJ'ing a great feature. For example, when DJ'ing in a club environment I'll pretty much have just two large platter decks and a playlist. However in the studio I will have smaller track decks, large remix decks containing jingles/drops/fx etc. Higher resolution support and a way of dragging and dropping just the components I need around the interface would be my only suggestion to improve things.

Rekordbox has done this (besides the classical list) and it seems easier for me to work like this

Apart from dragging and dropping components (which to me seems useless since it can just as well be done as it is now, although a bit less user friendly for people who don't know what they're doing) this can already be done. Different layouts can be saved and changed on the fly, like smaller decks or bigger etc.

Would also like the split screen for the browser. I like that feature

Thats what I was trying to explain - I have different layouts for different DJ applications i.e. DJ, turntablist, radio, browsing etc. and find it invaluable, but a little more flexibility in placement would be the cherry on the cake.

Ah I understand what you meant now. That wouldn't be a bad thing indeed. But I think it probably is a lot more development than you would imagine and I think they'd reserve stuff like this for the rewrite.

Agreed. I only think it needs a little cosmetic clean up (kinda like what Pioneer did with RB when they went from v4 to v5. get rid of the button shades etc. and make it more "flat") I think that shouldn't be too hard to accomplish.

That's very nice, just enough of a touch up! Have you made that yourself or is that something official?

No thanks, good contrast and clear separation between elements is one of Traktor's best features.

Thank you :) Thats nothing official I made it myself haha

I see your point, but I also think that those 100 different shades of grey are the main reason why the software looks like it was made in the 90s. But to each their own :)

I also made another mockup with stacked waveforms, "Traktor" style:
