I don't understand the point of the video at all..

    If his points are

    a) "Nobody with Maschine will buy the Mk II" then so what?.. I cannot Imagine NI assumed anybody will.

    b) "Ren is currently more popular"..then of course... it was announced in JANUARY ffs... so of course there is pent up demand.

Here is something equally as valid I had bacon this morning...should i do a vid? :D

Maschine MKII has been out for 5 days.
I was going to say that on thomann.de the Maschine MK1, MK1 Mikro, MK2 Black, MK2 White, MK2 Mikro White and MK2 Mikro Black all have a higher sales rank than the Renaissance, but then realized you don't actually get a Renaissance yet when you buy one, as it isn't out for another month. So the comparison isn't really fair, as the MK2s have five days of actual availability to factor into account.

Fact, Maschine just became available for sale less than one week ago.
Fact, demand is high enough that NI is struggling to keep retailers supplied with stock in US.
Fact, bad idea to believe every wannabe star on YouTube.

Also NI did not shoot themselves in the foot. They sold a ton of Maschines during the sale and cleared old stock. Those people are all potential customers for upgrades to v2.

I'm interested in the Ren and Studio also and I will always be interested in tools for my craft. However this here is good old propaganda by the books. Not only that but as salesmen why would the store employees not say that the more expensive item is the one in demand? Isn't that a part of being a salesmen? I couldn't bring myself to take someone on Youtube as a real source of valid statistics especially not when there is a obvious slant toward Akai in their tone. Also if Akai can't fill pre-orders and NI can then there is no way to really track nor quantify who is selling what since pre-orders are not even actual monetary transactions and may even be retracted. Maybe the Maschine isn't selling at all or maybe it is. Regardless desirability isn't the same as actual buyers nor quality of the products. Many people desire or are interested in stuff they will never buy.

At the end of the day I don't care who's selling better to be honest. What other people buy has nothing to do with what I want or can use.

Were you not on the bandwagon when NI dropped the 1.8 update. Didn't you post about what color maschine users are going to get. Why not just sell your maschine and get...... You seem to be going back and forth you like maschine and then... you like maschine. Hope sowari or brigh closes another one of your useless post of trying to start something.

I don't think they shot themselves. They hooked me as a customer with the sale.

I bought a Mikro during Guitar Center's black Friday sale last year but really wanted the big model so I never really got into the Mikro.

Don't even know why I came to the forum here but I saw the Maschine at $399 and that the new one was coming out. I jumped at the chance to get a Maschine cheap even thought the while MK2 looks amazing.

Bought that last month and really starting getting into it way more than the Mikro. I ended up getting the Komplete 8 crossgrade this week for another good price with a Guitar Center coupon so now I have just about everything I need and NI has me locked in for quite some time.

When I went to buy Komplete 8 my guitar center didn't even have an MK2 on display. They had a Ren that wasn't even hooked up and just threw the original Maschine on top of a speaker. The Ren is sitting where the Maschine used to be.

I can't see how they can even sell an MK2 if no one even knows it's there.

I think NI may have known what they were doing. I was able to get into Maschine and Komplete for not much more than buying just a new MK2 plus I have a voucher to buy even more and will probably upgrade to Komplete 9 if and when it comes out. :)

He's dead wrong! MK2 has been selling VERY well at my store. I can't get into specifics, but we've sold more MK2 in less than a week than we sold MK1 the whole first year they were out. This guy is an idiot!

thank u for posting first hand experince as someone who actually works in a store, i dont know u or the guy in the vid,, i just came across it and posted it for consideration, i did not co-sign what he said, i just offered a suggestion that might factor into his argument , and the logic was somewhat supported by the no mk2 crossgrade thread.

but now we have an actual person who works in store selling maschine cofirming that they r flying off the shelves like hotcakes.

which is what i originally expected to happen when i saw how goodthe mk2 looks style flipped

So Jpeg... are you getting a MKII?

I had gearslut hard for the MPC Ren... but that's kinda gone away... maybe after a couple of updates I'll think about the Ren again.

As far as the MKII... I'm still undecided.

Ya gotta get it man. I just told my Mk1 to get the Mk2 day before last and I have to say it is pretty incredible. I thought all the hardware modifications were going to be negligible, but I am extremely happy with all the choices they made. Plus, it looks....so DOPE!
