To those at NI who care:

When i read the announcement of the new Maschine today, I felt cheated and I still do. I finally bought Maschine a few weeks ago, at the discounted rate and its great! But apparently the discount was just a way to get rid of some excess stock of 'old' Maschines. Why couldn't you just be honest and upfront about the new Maschine from the beginning, so your customers have a choice between the new version of Maschine at the original price or the old Maschine at a discounted price?

If I would have know, I would have waited for the new version, and others may have not. Now I feel cheated and robbed out of the chance to make my own choice. I find this move very customer unfriendly, and opportunist.

I hope NI will somehow find a way to make this right for all those other loyal NI customers that feel the same, and I know there are many. If you think of anything, I would really like to know.

    An unhappy NI customer.

the world of business moves forward as do products - get used to it, that or never buy anything new for fear of an updated model being released @ a later date.

Fully agree Widowmaker. In fact NI's relentless product and concept development is one of the reasons I love NI. And that is exactly why I would have liked to have known a new version was already waiting in the wings. NI knew, but decided not to share that information with its loyal customers.

This release is not "a later date". NI already new they were going to release a new version when they reduced the prices for the 'old' Maschine. That's where the problem lies, in my opinion.

Dunno... it's pretty standard for companies to reduce the price of products dramatically before launching updated versions.

The sale price was very good (I bit on Mikro) but also a bit of a statement reading between the lines of what was going to happen next.

Stick or twist is always tricky? :)

SO let me get this straight... you saved a very large amount of money over the rest of us.. and it is YOU who is complaining...?

sometimes a sense of perspective is required.

@ Mystic38: Yes I am, but you're right: all perspectives are relative. You have yours, I have mine. ;)

Ah well, you can always put your free copy of Massive to use in your upcoming dubstep opus "NI Ruined My Life"! :)

a few weeks ago? are you less then 30 - 45 days, most dealers will accept returns within that time frame, simple return it if possible, if not just be happy with mk1 until you feel the need to swap it out for the new one. many I think will stick to mk1 anyways, tbh, it's the software that makes maschine good anyways, and if you've not had to go thru all the growing pains like many of us did, I'd say your pretty lucky.

Last year we had to listen to the I brought Komplete 7 and now they have Komplete 8 complaints.
    It's always something.
When I see things like this it's make me wonder how poeple deal with real life problems if things like this bother them this much.

I would say be glad NI offers discounts when they are moving forward, lots of companies don't.

I just bought a Maschine (finally) two weeks ago. I assumed the discounted price was due in part to a new model being released soon. I didn't care because I really wanted a Maschine and couldn't be happier. I'll probably get the Mk II (if needed) when it's disocunted.

You do have a choice! If you want a Maschine controller at bargain price, with 99.9% of the functionality of the Mk2, stay with the mk1.

If you want to pay $250 extra for what the mk2 offers, then do it.

If you don't want the mk1, plenty of people do! Just return it or sell it, and put the money towards the mk2.

    Too Easy!

Envy does not become any of us. Why are so many people made unhappy when they or somebody else gets a good deal?

And happy when somebody else either loses, has something taken away from them, or is prevented from getting a deal?

We should all look at ourselves and ask if we are falling prey to our own self destructive feelings of envy or jealousy.

It may even be a form of greed.

Regardless of MK 1 or MK 2, do try to enjoy being "in the Maschine" and try to worry less about who got theirs. :)

I don't get why you are complaining, I spent $600.00 and when I saw maschine selling for $200.00 less, I was a little pissed but you got a good deal right? I don't think colored lights are worth the money...you are going to get elements and Massive! Why don't you take some time to make some music, instead of complaining. It's getting old, with everyone crying about what Maschine doesn't have..instead look at what they are doing for us and just say thank you!

Why couldn't you just learn about the world of business and marketing, even a tiny bit? Understand how the world works, and the risks in it, and suddenly you don't feel cheated when things don't go your way - you just accept responsibility for your choice and move on with your life.

Responsibility for your own actions.....try it! Maybe you might even like it.

    LOL!

Wubwubwubwubwuwbwuwubwuwubwub "Oh the agony!" wubwubwuwbwuwbwuwbwubw "NI took my money" wubba wubba wubwuwbwubwubw

Sorry that was tasteless but I can't help it - STOP COMPLAINING AND START TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR CHOICES PEOPLE!

    +1

I paid full price for un-discounted Maschine and I love every minute of it. Some folks are always owed something, and never at fault.

I'm thrilled with the new controller. With the price drop I upgraded from Mikro to full on Machine :)

Got mine with a 15% off Labor Day sale for $340 at Guitar Center. That for a brand new in the box Maschine 1. I'm lovin' it! I enjoyed my Mykro, but I must admit the full on Maschine is more fun.

Selling my Mykro, and now 100% Maschine.....

Wow, need to update my sig!

And i'm not mad at N.I. either. I hope they will make billions off of their new maschine and who knows just maybe, just maybe i might buy it again. Never say never as they say..
