New Maschine Studio?

I noticed NI is no longer selling Maschine Studio on their website.

Are there any plans of a new Maschine Studio coming out? Or is the Maschine Studio a dead platform?

Maschine studio is just controller that integrates with the Maschine platform (if you like) via the supplied sequencer software.

Expect more controllers that will integrate with the Maschine platform. The marketing department will decide what to call them no doubt (they may decide to call the next one a Studio, a drumpadomatic, or maybe a Banana, we shall see).

I apologize - I should have phrased my questions differently. I was more wondering if the NI company and community didn't really like the Studio versions anymore and were moving away from them, in exchange for the newer maschine non-studio devices, with all the shortcuts built in.

I hear the shortcuts are really easy to learn and the workflow is great, but I really am partial to the jog wheel and not having to use the shortcuts a lot. If there's no more plans for future studio versions, I may want to buy an extra Maschine Studio off of Ebay, which is why I'm asking.

Thanks and have a great week!

NI doesn't share its plans for new hardware in advance so no one here will be able to tell you anything other than try to guess.
The Studio and the MK3 are pretty toe-to-toe in terms of the userbase liking them.
I would expect the next-gen to be more similar to the MK3 than to the Studio, NI doesn't tend to move backward in design layouts but this is just a guess.

Funny I ask them these types of questions via their support and they send a response directing me that this should be discussed in the forums. Oh well. Thanks anyway!

No problem. They probably meant discussed in a speculative sense, not in an official straight answer sense, there's hundreds of discussion threads about a Studio Mk2.. To me, it's pretty clear they are focusing on more compact devices as is the rest of the industry and huge 4x4's is basically a thing of the past with the exception of maybe the MPC X.

What we usually suggest in support if you ask a question about development is to check the forum for more updates from our product teams. It doesn't mean we always share information about upcoming hardware but you might find insights about future plans here and there ;)

I am Studio fan. I have also MK3. My opinion is, it would be the best to provide users mini controler that would fit beside MK3 and had jogwheel, direct acces buttons (Copy, Paste, .....), volume meter, volume knob and buttons to choose the "channel". Generaly updated right part of Studio.

And it could include better audio card than MK3 and more external connections.

It would be kind of modular solution, similar like in Traktor series....

One might start with MK3, or even Mikro and add this expansion. And maybe another one in the form of refreshed Jam.

My guess, maybe wrong, is that there is not much space for standalone Studio MK2. Standalone Studio Expansinon for Maschine MK3/Mikro seems to be better way of delivering desired usability.

Yes. Something like this would be great. Even simpler thing without LDC screen, just oldfashioned LED meter would do. :) But screen would offer more features and possibility of feature expandibility

Jog Wheel and direct function buttons is why I still keep Studio and use Maschine MK3 only when travelling. (Too lazy to carry Studio)

Maschine MK3 + refreshed Maschine Jam + possible "Control Extension Panel" seems to me be a modern suite of 21. century bringing flexibility, expandibility and modularity in compact factor covering wide user needs and desires.

Shouldn't I get hired by NI marketing office. :))))))

I would really appreciated if NI (or someone else) comes with something like that (Jogwheeel extension panel & Co.).

i was chatting to the store i buy all my gear from and they said theyd been told there are new controllrs coming out they said it should coincide with maschine 3..when i pushed them for dates they said theyd been told october/november.
no word on what the controller would look like but seeing as the flag shop studio and jam have been discontinued id like to see a desktop module similar too kore..i have a komplete kontrol mk2 but i keep that in my studio but id like a controller same size as kore 2 but with a screen, more knobs,fader..and too also offer stacking functionality so i could stack massive x sounds with others and save it as 1 patch..i can do this in akai vip 3 but id like too do it in komplete kontrol 2 software if they ever update it.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like the new Maschine out is the Plus, to compete against the mobility of the Akai MPX LIve series. I'd like to get one of those, but still hope they make a new Studio version eventually (one with a built in sound card would be nice). Or if they had the add on an external controller with a jog wheel like D-One suggested. I guess I'll buy a used Maschine Studio off Ebay for now as a back up in the meantime.

    Have a good one!

Don’t think they will do a studio version now.they don’t need too both mk3 and + contain dual screens and audio interface.
One thing they may do is a touch strip mixer with no pads so basically the bottom half of the jam.
That’d be a cool controller and if they made it mappable it could be used for any daw or any vst.

The Maschine Studio was successful, I'd definitely buy another one. BIGGER is better and Dedicated buttons always win imo. There's alot of customers who aren't interested in the maschine + due to a number of reasons, yet still would easily purchase an upgraded Maschine Studio. Standalone provides nothing to alot of customers, who feel it's less of an upgrade to users who are comfortable with their cpus, standalone, also can mean more growing pains VS a tried and true controller that is mature.
I'll take a bigger n better controller over the maschine + any day.
