OK, now I am impressed. I have not given Reaktor a look (it scares me actually). But seeing this just made me go nuts with ideas on what I can do live with just my voice. I am going to sit on the fence on this one so I can hear others peep up about this. One question to users- are they user libraries that can show off some of these capabilities already (maybe not as polished or varied as this offering).
Very impressed with what I have heard thusfar though. Maybe that coupon I have with Komplete will finally get used.

Hi NI users. I'll be checking this post from time to time so if you have any questions then don't hesitate to ask. Happy fingering!

Is this at all based on CList's BeatLookup?

just downloaded this and unless i am doing something terribly wrong it seems that it needs the kore player or kore installed in order to install this on my machine even though it is advertised as working in reaktor aswell (which i own)

i am really not too happy with the idea of having to install unnecessary stuff (for me) - namely kore player - just to run something which is said to be an reaktor ensemble

Does the finger include the 'voice synthesizer'?

If not, what ensemble is that?

Have you checked to see if the Reaktor ensemble files are in the zip-file seperately? That was the case with Reaktor Spark.

No it's not, but you can do similar things with it. It's a multi-effect processor which contains lots of different FX which are activated and routed intelligently according to how you play the keyboard. FX & samplers are routed in the order you press the keys.

No it doesn't I'm afraid. That's just part of my live set up.

For it's ability to make 'prepared' synths alone this is a great and worthy investment/tool/instrument...and that's coming from someone who has Artillery and Effectrix, which as a most basic difference...they do not have the benefit of Reaktor and it's many abilities as the heart of the FX engine.

Great job NI and Tim :) Now I must return to the re-inventing Cage's prepared piano repertoire as performed by Reaktor ensembles and The Finger :D

It's a little vague in the video what effects are part of it. Is there a list somewhere?

    does look fun.

In the video is the reason that you've got the effect notes off-set forward slightly on the grid?
    ---
It's the other way around. Tim had some video a long time ago showing his ensemble but never released it.

CList did BeatLookup at some point after seeing Tim's video and originally released it on the forums.

I think the key point here is that Tim's dealy has made it prime-time so people don't have to slog through Reaktor themselves to build it.

Is the Ensemble included in purchase?

Are there some ensembles you could steer me to?

I would Loooooove to be praising the whole Finger thing but unfortunately I bought the Software, downloaded it and can't install it. I need to have Kore Player or Kore 2 installed even if we have a machine with Reaktor on it.
Came back to the NI Page to download Kore Player (That was already something that I did against my will) only to find out that:
    1. The supposed link never reached my emails (sic) and that NI takes a few days to answer any support request.

So, I buy a piece of software and can't get it to work immediately because ... I can't download the FREE Kore Player.

Somehow I feel NI is showing me the finger, sorry to say it.

    Cheer!

So, I've read the faq's and watched the videos and seen the comparison chart. But still, how does someone like me (who hasn't used kore player) know how it will workout in cubase with just the kore player?

So what are you using for your voice synthesis?

nope - sadly it´s an executable installer file so there doesnt seem to be a way round this at the moment.

i really hope NI will change this soon as i try to avoid to cram my system with "useless" stuff as far as possible

Just downloaded it and had a quick play. It's really wonderful. Quite inspirational actually.

I'm using it to spice up the drums in a documentary cue I'm working on, but I can't for the life of me find a control for the volume of the FX only (not the input). The master volume turns everything down.

When effected the drums in question are slightly louder than when dry. I'd like to alter the volume so they're the same.

FYI I'm using it with the Kore Player as a MIDI AU controlled plug-in in Logic 9.

Ok. I wouldn't call the Kore Player useless though, I'd reserve that description for the Kontakt player ! :D
It's well worth installing the Kore player. Not only will you be able to extract the Reaktor ensemble on its own but you'll get a flavour of what it can do in tandem with the other stuff in the player, like the Guitar Rig effects, Absynth etc. Once you've got the Reaktor stuff out and into your Reaktor database you can always delete the player if it really annoys you that much, but at least give it a try first. The 2 Kore packs for effects are pretty mad and offer quite superb sound mangling possibilities.
