Ok so I was using Virtual DJ on my laptop with dual soundcards for party set lists and music play at small home parties and events. Have recently switched to traktor ios But of course with only one sound card on my iPad 2 I need help trying to figure out what is required to get me sound to my monitors and my headphones so i can que music prior to fading it in. What are you using to run dual outputs as previously stated one to head phones ex: track A while track B is playing thru monitors I have seen where some are running a splitter cable but this doesn't run stereo does it? Or does it? And is there a cheap way to run stereo dual outputs if not.

The simple option is to use a stereo splitter cable like the one from NI or Griffin. This does not support Stereo output, as you are using one channel for Main output and the other for CUE/Monitor output.

So the above are the only cheap options, then the next step is to use an external audio interface like the Traktor Audio 2.

Finally, some controllers like the NI Traktor Kontrol S2/S4 Mk2 support connection to an iPad/iPhone and the audio interface supports main and monitor/cue outputs.

Ok so I went to Best Buy and picked up a stereo splitter and plugged it in. Go to settings on the app and select split output and I must still have something wrong do you have a quick screen shot of your settings. When I plug in the splitter I'm getting sound from track A in my headphones on left side and when I plug in the monitors I'm getting nothing from B on the right side

Can you post a link to the splitter cable. That sounds as though it is not summing the outputs.
You should get Deck A in both headphones as the splitter cable sums both sides into mono.

Not all splitter cables are capable of doing what the NI and the Griffin cable do.

Karlos is right - that might not be a splitter cable, as most easily available cable simply give you two outputs of the same instead of splitting left and right into separate outputs.

Once you confirm the cable is correct, you need to check the Crossfader position is correct to the deck you want to go out to the main speakers and then enable the headphone icon on the deck you want to cue. In this example, Deck A is playing out while I cue up Deck B. image.jpg

What ever you do... do not buy the Audio 2 DJ soundcard... it doesn't work with IOS8... it barely worked in IOS7.
NI seem to have done nothing to address or fix this for months now.
It may be best to forget TraktorDJ and see what other software can do for you.

    Sad but so true....
You will be seeing many NI videos saying how their products are great and revolutionary but when it comes to it, it doesn't work 100%. You can report it many times but noone will care as their job is already done - you bought it....
NI is a quite different company than it used to be in the past years.... :-(
