howdy everyone, just got reaktor 6 a few days ago... amazed I actually had know idea it had the new blocks, a lot of fun, I am actually working on putting together my first eurorack so this is definitely helpful. I've got a couple questions I was hoping some of you might help me out with sorry if these are totally newb questions. first off when I open a new ensemble there isn't anything in it to save time I decided to make a basic new ensemble with one instrument in it with a basic stereo outs and the polyphonic to mono converters. I tried saving this in the program file where the new ensemble is however reaktor didn't like that and gave me some error messages. I saved it in the user library no problem so I can just use that to open my new ensembles... someone mentioned to me that reaktor should already be set up to have these basic things in the new ensemble but my install doesn't seem to.

my next questions is more of a maschine question. I made a cool little synth and can pull it up in maschine as a sound, I would love if it showed up as a user made reaktor instrument in the browser but this is not a huge deal. what is more of a pain is even when using sort and compress for the controls everything in maschine shows up all over the place. is there any way to rename and move where these controls show up in maschine?

my third question is more of one for curiosities sake. I've noticed some similarities between reaktors modal bank module and mutable instruments rings, which isn't too crazy as modal synthesis is getting a better name these days, I love prism... But also clouds grain delay module in reaktor is very similar to mutable instrument clouds, which is a grain delay. Is cloud delay a thing i haven't heard of outside of reaktor and mutable isntruments eurorack modules?

thanks! I'm real excited to get on board with the reaktor community!

Hi IS, I only know the answer to your first question, in the Reaktor Blocks folder you'll see an ens called Blocks New. It's a starter template. Open that and then SAVE AS and start building. You will probably avoid error messages that way.

I hope someone can help you with the maschine stuff. Modal synthesis and grain delays are some of the big paradigms in digital and analog sound design, so they will be implemented by different makers (eurorack and software) in different ways. I don't know if "cloud delay" has a specific technical meaning, or if it's kind of a branding or concept thing.

Firstly there is a dropdown menu - in my example, the down arrow to the right of FATCAT:

and you can re-order and even rename the IDs. basically if you Sort and Compress, the knobs will appear according to their ID number starting from ID 1 will be knob 1 in Maschine.

in the below example, i reordered the IDs of Fatcat and also renamed the names. you can do this in Reaktor Standalone Mode and then later load it into Maschine - the method i prefer - or do this whilst Reaktor is loaded in Maschine. Realtor has to be in Edit Mode.

in the above example, i have the cutoff knob - Cut - highlighted and i am on the Connect Page in Reakto's 'Properties' and i have scrolled down to the bottom where i changed the ID number to 1 and for the 'Custom Parameter Name', i wrote Cut, to the reflect the name in the GUI.

fyi, with Maschine 2.4 you can delete all the automatically created Knob Pages and start again using the learn feature. this might be an easier/quicker method than changing the individual ID numbers in the Reaktor Ensemble.
