New to the Kontrol S2

Hey Guys, i'm fairly new to the DJ scene and new to the Kontrol S2. I've had it for about half a year now, its fun, easy to use, and overall a great beginner equipment.

My main question i have, since i am still new to the whole DJ thing, How are you guys recording Demos through your S2? I've talked to different people, some say Garage Band, others use the Serato Program, but i've never talked with anyone else with the S2 that has recorded a Demo CD.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..

You can record right into tracktor look for the cassette tape icon in the top right corner

 

Really? I need to look into this.. I figured there might be FREE software online that would help us record a demo CD or just record to a file on your Mac/PC.

 

Lol didnt realize s2 could do that too. i feel stupid

 

where is this cassette tape icon you speak of? on the actual Kontrol or screen? :S

 

Screen , above deck b , right hand-side , on the efects (as far as i remember from few hours ago)

 

In the Traktor preferences, you can tell Traktor where to save your recording (which is in wave form) and tell it when to split the file (64mb 650mb 700mb or 2048mb) I use the longest one for full mixes.

 

I found it, i hit the record button, played music. Went to go look for the WAV file, found it and then played it. NOTHING. Converted it into mp3 form and NOTHING.. LOL, what am i doing wrong?

 

Traktor records from the master. Are you using internal or external mixer mode?

You should be internal and using the S2 as the main audio device, and then connecting the S2 to amp/speakers with normal audio wires, description of your set up would help.

 

Dam.. I'm not too shavy there.. Let me find out and i'll post up..
