New to the Maschine

Ok guys, I've looked through the manual and the videos on Youtube and can't figure this out- When I want to record "live", I load a drum kit, press play and then record, like I've read/seen to do everywhere. However, the minute I press play, a beat is made using the kit. How can I turn this off? I'm sure I missed something obvious, but I honestly feel like I've exhausted all of the available resources.

Im not sure if you are referring to the pre-made patterns but to turn this off, there is a box to the bottom left which you can uncheck so when you load the kits it will give you a blank pattern. you can do this via the maschine also. hope that helps

 

^Yup... it's button 7 on the Maschine. Take a couple of hours to go through the manual. It'll be of benefit

On the software screen, select Group and on the bottom left side of the screen uncheck the box.

Just load a group and reset the patterns manually if you have to. There is a row of light blue numbered tiles above the pattern area. Right click -> Reset
