I'm using the $39.99 official Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter cable, not the one piece adapter that sells for $29.99, and TA2 does not function at all when I connect to my iPad Air. I'm not using a DC connector for external power. The MAIN and HEADPHONE LED lights stay on for about 3 seconds, followed by flashing for a couple of times, then no lights at all, and then repeats the same cycle over and over.

On my iPad Air, iOS cycles in a freezing state that lasts about 5 seconds, every 5 seconds or so. Anyone here having issues like me? Someone mentioned on Amazon that issues with iOS 7 have been resolved but apparently, that hasn't been the case for me.

    Help! Please!

Are you on iOS 7.1 yet?

I jumped straight from the parent forum and the long title was cut, so I missed that point. Thanks for your contribution though.

Have you tried running a clean version of 7.1 rather than importing your old settings and files, and do you have another iOS device available to test with?

No worries, glad I could help ;)

Maybe try this as there was another user who was having issues with 7.1 on an iPhone 4S connecting to his Z1 and a complete reset and re-install (not from backup) got it going properly.

Thanks both for your help. I don't know why the idea of using another iOS device never crossed my mind! But anyway, that didn't help either. Tried connecting to my iPhone 5 just now and still not working. What was different this time around was an odd message when booting up my iPhone with TA2 connected. The error message said I didn't currently have the app to support this device and if I wanted to go to the App store to download it. It's odd because I've had tractor DJ installed prior. Oh, and also, I have tried it on my iMac and it works flawlessly. So it's just isolated to iOS.

And as for restoring the iPhone to factory settings without a backup, ehhh.....Unfortunately, that's just not a solution for me. I have a ton of app data that I'm not going to get rid of. Thanks for your help though. I really appreciate the suggestion and solution, but frankly, I think the idea of having to restore your iOS device and sacrifice all your data just so this device can work properly sounds ridiculous to me. I mean NI should figure this out somehow. Users shouldn't have to resort to this. iOS is built to be more stable, secure, and more user friendly than any other OS out there so this is the kind of stuff I don't expect to do on it.

I've already contacted NI support though. Hopefully, they can shed more light on the matter. I wonder if a simple firmware update could resolve all this?

I am having the same issue...
Setup: iOS 7.1, brand new 128GB iPad Air, Audio 2 MKII, Lossless M4A files, Traktor DJ 1.3.3.383, no power supply plugged into Audio 2, official Apple 30 pin to Lightning adapter.

It worked perfectly for 10mins when I first plugged it in (1hr ago).

Starting Traktor DJ with or without the Audio 2 plugged makes no difference. If I reboot my iPad and plug in the Audio 2 and start Traktor DJ it crashes on startup. Subsequent starts are successful. On all occasions the Audio 2 lights up for a few seconds and then starts flashing. Traktor DJ is working but is almost completely unresponsive, any touch takes at least 10 seconds to process. A Playing track goes silent when I plug in the Audio 2, it will blurt out sound intermittently until I unplug the Audio 2 and then the track starts playing fine through the iPad speakers. The strange thing is that when the Audio 2 is plugged in the intermittent sounds is coming out the iPad speaker not the Audio 2. It seems like it doesn't know where to route the sound.

I have rebooted the iPad multiple times and reinstalled Traktor DJ twice. Time to log a support case. Between this and my M4A issues on Traktor Pro (yes I am running the latest version) I am not looking forward to my gig tomorrow.

I just hooked the power supply from my Traktor S4 MKI to the Audio 2 MKII and it is working perfectly now.

Thanks for sharing your experience and confirming I'm not the only one.

That's BS though. NI doesn't specify that a power supply is required anywhere so it feels very misleading.

Also I filed a support email OVER A WEEK AGO and followed up with 2 subsequent emails and I still haven't heard even a peep from NI. Looks like they may know of the problem but don't want to openly admit it.

    Getting very frustrated here.

Ok so I spoke to NI yesterday over the phone. I guess my email caught up in limbo. But I was told that the one piece adapter that sells for $29 is able to output power, while the $39 .2 meter cable adapter does not.

That's a little disappointing considering I use the Smart Case for my iPad and the one piece adapter won't fit into that, which is why I went with the cabled version.

At least I know what the issue is now, and I just ordered the lightning adapter. But an updated caption for the TA2 page would be helpful going forward in informing future customers which adapter actually works and which doesn't.

    Hi guys-

Was there any final resolution? Is the power supply the critical piece (that for some reason NI doesn't sell with the A2)?

I believe my case is still open. The workaround is to use the power supply but it shouldn't be required. I am also really annoyed by the fact that I have to use the 30pin to Lightning adapter as I have to remove the protective case. I would prefer to pay for the right cable rather than butcher the case.

That is for connecting an iOS device to a computer, not for connecting a sound card to the iOS device.

There are two cables on that page, look at the second one - Lightning to USB mini A cable.[IMG]
