Hi guys! I recently bought my Traktor Scratch Duo with a 1.2.2 version. I have a few questions to ask from Traktor users who can help and have full knowledge about it.

    1. I downloaded the 1.2.6 version. Can I directly update my current version or do I have to download and install the 1.2.5 version first?
    2. I also download the v.002 Time Code CD. Can I use this with the v.1.2.2 or is it only usable to versions 1.2.5/1.2.6?
    3. On the window screen, I don't see the elapse time. Only the remaining time. I've searched the entire option list of the preferences, global view options, etc, but I still couldn't do anything to show the elapse time.
    4. I am quite happy with the version 1.2.2, but since I have only been using this for less than a week, is it really necessary to update it? What are the pros and cons?
    5. A friend advised me to burn the new time code CDs in "no pause in betwwen tracks" burning process. Why is that so? Is it true?

Thanks for your time in reading guys! Hope to get some answers soon. ;)

    1) You can just install the current version by itself.
    2) Not sure as I don't use CDs. I bet you can use it with older versions though.
    3) I don't know if this is something customizable in DUO. In PRO you can add elapsed time to the deck layout.
    4) The trend is generally that bugs are fixed and software performance generally improves. I bet someone will come in here and complain that they do the exact opposite. Someone always does when the topic of updates comes around. But yeah generally it's better to update your software. If you have a problem and call support that's the first thing they'll expect you to do anyway.
    5) Again, vinyl guy here; no idea but I imagine it'll ensure the music doesn't get interrupted as the CD switches from Track 1 to Track 2. It'll be no fun mixing in absolute mode when the track stops for two seconds then starts back up again.

Yeah, I love using it on vinyl too and haven't tried my Traktor with CD players yet. But I know for a fact that I will be using it with CDs too. Hahaha!

Thanks for the quick answers Telly! Nice to see you here. See you in DJF too. ;)

Hello , and welcome to the forum.
I am using the Scratch Duo with timecode vinyls (at studio) and also with timecoded CDs on Pioneer CDj 200 at work, so i think i can help you out here.
I strongly suggest you use the new timecoded wavs as posted here to control traktor. I am using them and i had no problems so far. (I havent tested with the old timecode wavs though)
YES, you should burn those files without gaps between the tracks. No the track wont interrapt when the cd changes from tack 1 to track 2, but i should point out to you that Track 1 is used as lead in and has no sound. Lead in can be used (from the options) to reset the decks or switch to absolute mode etc etc.
What you will experiance is when you press "back" at your CD and track 2 starts from the begining that will be the beginning of the track loaded on deck.
No you can not change the time reference in DUO, but you can switch the time mode on your CDj so you can see elapsed time (on CDj display, and time remaning at Traktor).
By the way , if you want to use loops in "free form" without snaping to the next beat, you can use the loop functions at your CDj (this i tested myself).

I hope i helped a bit, shoot any more questions i may answer.
