Go get it! Fixes some rare crashes related to sample edit and improves knob res for sample edit. Also, consecutive duplication of pads is fixed. Mac midi dropouts with with templates should be resolved too.

Windows users, if you happen to get the shortcut error message on install, just click okay and continue. No real issue with it.

Less likely to drop midi is all. This is just a maintenance release.

My update is not working? After installing and starting in the standalone mode, it fails to open and reports crash to apple. Tried three times alone with a re download of the update. Anyone else getting this?

So I take it that after I updated , replaced my Ableton Template and Maschine folder in Live again that this time I choose Maschine Virtual Input and output respectively in my Ableton settings now like MK2 users, correct? And do the physical MIDI in and out ports still work for Maschine standalone?

Anyone else getting "Maschine Library not found" on Mac 10.6.8 at the first step of the install process?

It sounds like the old issue where you have Maschine set to scan your whole drive. Check this knowledge base article. (you have to log into the support area to see it or maybe not?)

The update starts ok for me, took a while though.

We have lost the ability to make External midi templates, this is a step backwards in functionality for me. Before I could make a control template in external mode and plug my ipad into the midi ports of the maschine, it worked great as a way of tweaking ios synths. Now I have to use midi loopback software on my computer to use the ports it already has?

Any ideas why this feature has been removed? Was it a mk1 only thing?

What version are you upgrading from? Does your Maschine library show up in the browser? You can manually point to it in preferences under Library by clicking on the folder icon. Does the installer give you an option to locate it?

@jiggle, the new midi port handling was changed to work like the mk2 because it was a source of dropout problems.

    Tried that, thanks

Deleted those files, still not completing startup. It checks database to approximately 32000 items, then crashes, almost indicating like you said, scanning the whole drive. Just went to user download and re-downloaded the update to make sure is was not corrupt. It takes about 7 minutes before if fails on startup?... Any ideas, should I back out to the previous 8.1 version?
