I read on the old forum that a new version of B4 was under development or planned..cant remember.
Is there someone who can confirm this ?
Is there some way to express new ideas and comunicate suggestions to developers about some new improvements/changes ?

    B4

I really hope will soon arrive a new version of the astonishing B4,which is ,in my opinion, absolutely the best B3 wannabe ever made
(I've played all others out there).
Although it's very good,I think "better is ever possible",so I've got
a brief "wish list" of improvements:
    1)A warmer drive effect
2)A little more metallic flavour in the higher(brillance) drawbars
as we hear in the real thing
3)Just a bit of more Key click loudness at maximum volume
    4)A few different Leslie models(such as 760,122,147,860)

Solax, have you seen the extra tonewheels that you can get for B4? Maybe that's the report you saw?
    Here's the link: B4 Tonewheels

The only thing I'd like in a new B4 is a real Stop button on the Leslie. Different other Leslie cab simulation would be also really cool. I've not tried the tonewheels but I really want to buy them cause I like the way you can have an old crappy sound and also VOX and Farfisa that I love. A feature to put a reverb between tonewheels and Leslie could also be cool.

I'd like to see built-in support for all the various B3 hardware clones to be used as controllers. None of them work fully. I don't think it's enough for NI to make the B3 MIDI mappings configurable. The Hammond XK-2, for example, uses a single CC# for all the drawbars. This configuration needs to be done by NI. It would be nice if all the the MIDI CC#s in the B4 were re-mappable though.

I think the B4 should be remappable its the better thing.
I'm currently using midiox that is awesome proggy to remap a korg 01WFD switch and volume to B4 defaults without problem.
Speaking about sound for me its a good addition to have more Leslie types, and I'd like the sound to be more GRITTY, take for example the old Santana Hammond sound, its more of a METALLIC sound, it gives u the impression that u'r listening to a damned machine than to a spongy software. Perhaps for NI, its the characteristic to aim to, to obtain the real character of the instrument, and probably its the famous 'BALLS' that hammondists refer to speaking about the Real Thing. NI, you can only do it better and better and better :)

I agree for the Santana first albums and also some Medeski stuff that are really good sounding, but don't forget there's not only the B3 but also high end mics, quality reverb and dynamics! I allways use a little room reverb and eq to tweak the sound of B4 and often a little comp, sometimes a slight overdrive (that is after the mic and doesn't sound like the B4 one) and then it sounds really awesome. Tweaking the mics parameter also give good results. In Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 i can play the effects real time and it gives a real good feeling.

Yes ur right, but I'm speaking about sound core, I dunno if an eq'd B4 can give that feeling I said before, surely can make it better, but u CANT change the original timbre... adding an external tube distortion can make it fatter.

    Make the Leslie available...

...as an effect, useable by any patched in sound. Overdrive too.

Don't know if you read the documentation, but I'm happy to announce you it's already the case (at least in DXi, I don't use any VST host). And it can be real time with a good sound card too...

Cédric, with rotator on, setting the slow motor speed to minimum does the same as a stop button.

I know, but it's not a button, I'd like to have stop, slow, fast available on the Leslie by Midi trigger. Sometimes it's cool to play with stop and slow, and then be able to get to fast. But the Hammond I played didn't have any stop button, so it's not so bad...

    any updates coming?

i'm surprised that since 2000, they haven't found anything to update or improve in it's engine.. hmm, wonder if they're "done" with it?

    Upper octave

The B4 is BY FAR the best Hammond B-3 clone out there.

However, the one thing that most clones have problems with is a kind of shrill high end. The B-4 is the best but it too suffers from this problem.

I would like to hear the top octave be as warm as my real B-3. Any of you who listen to lots of Joey DeFrancesco or other Hammond organ players and actually play the Hammond organ will know what I am talking about.

    Thanks!

    Mitch

    Ok thanks Steffen.
I'm sure you'r working on it and know from the start what to correct sound speaking, but as I read some newsgroup posts from hammond users about b4 and they came up with some observations, if it can be usefull I could post(filtering) some of them (most important).
    What do you think ?

    @groovecake
The new Korg CX-3 was recently compared with the B4 and 'IT SEEMS', in short, to be more true and full on lowest drawbars but more fake at high drawbars.

I'm not involved in the audio-engine of the B4, but i can forward this observations to Michael Kurz, who is the brain behind the B4. I think he would be interested in those observations, so it would be nice from you, if you can send them to me.

    Thanks,
    Steffen
