It's was there as 'Big Sci-Fi Organ'.

Thanks for all the patches and for the keeping the KSD format. I keep my Absynth down-level to stay compatible with Kore.

Arggg - LOL - back to 117 patches then, how could I miss that one :)?
I have the old version for programming in standalone mode and the new version for using in my DAW - they live peacefully side by side although it does get a bit confusing sometimes, especially when I make changes to a patch while producing the demo and then I have to make the adaptions to the original patch manually - oldschool sort of...

You don't strictly have to - just don't let at first start the newest Absynth, FM8 and Massive do their "batch reformat" into the Maschine format. That way you can install the latest versions (but of course don't need to^^) and keep all ksd files.

Kore2 2.14 comes with the last "working versions", it est ksd-format, as you already know.

Other users here pointed out that *in the future* you can load newer NI-synths into some wrapper like energyXT, bidule, chainer or the Wusik VM (have to find that one, it's or it was open source and free) into Kore2. That way you can still use newer sounds in Kore2 in the future. Not ideal, but well, it works^^.

Now back to topic, and if this post is unnecessary, feel free to delete it :) And of course it is very nice to keep the old kore format too, Simon, thanks!

As I know basically nothing about Kore - does that imply that the ksds are not really needed anymore? I would love to spare myself the hassle of publishing each patch in 2 formats - or am I missing something?

Sorry if I sound rude, but it indeed it is unnecessary.

You might keep those things in the kore forum actually,
    and not confusing people here.
I don't care about "Maschine" integration of the latest versions to Absynth,
Massive and FM8, so no need to update those applications for me.
I also don't like the idea to convert all my 3th party banks to the new format,
    what for... ?
So I won't update Absynth etc. just like arachnaut mentioned, and
keep my versions in sync inside Kore with the separate applications.

    @Simon:
for those, who haven't updated to the newest versions, the ksd.-files
are still the way to go.
If you don't want to have the hassle to provide both formats, there are two ways to go:

either just deliver the ksd format - anyone with a new version still can import it into
Absynth and Co. and re-save it as a nabs.-file themselves

    or...

you decide to make a cut, and just provide nabs.-files from now on
(which will leave some customers behind, like me who haven't updated to the last versions).
It's your decision (which someday you anyway won't be able to avoid),
but I personally hope, you will do this at the earliest with the release of Absynth 6.

Well, another option is to keep going like before - providing both formats

    So long

Thank's for clarifying that Frank - then I'll just continue to publish both formats and see how things evolve with Kore.

I just pointed out what the results of endless discussions were and showed "one possibility" if Simon did not like to go on with ksd files.
Like you, I really appreciate that Simon keeps giving us the ksd files.

The discussion about all this is due to NI's policies to drop Kore2 all of a sudden - and not some invention of users. It does no harm to think about the conclusions of those policies, and if Simon continues to release ksd files still - all the better.

    Cool :)

Simon, you can get around the working in two versions if you have Kore. When you're done, you can load Absynth 5.10 as AU in Kore and let Kore save it as Koresound. The koresound will open using the Kore engine and work in Absynth 5.03, for windows users too.

If I had Kore but I never got into it - shortly before the discontinuation I almost bought it but I was suspicious as they had stopped to sell the Software version and I had the (correct) feeling that Kore was going down the drain.

I'm moving out of here, it's to shabby to post in a Forum flooded with Spam and nobody responsible takes care of it for days. Whoever is interested in absynthsounds.com please follow my KVR-thread instead.
