    Hi,

I am desperately looking for a drum sampler. Ok, I should also mention I am sorta new to computer recording.

I use Protools on OSX. I downloaded the BATTERY demo. I can open it in Protools, and perform drum beats using my midi keyboard. I can also record these drumbeats.

However, I need to create really simply drum tracks. I can't figure out how to use the LOOP feature. I just want to create 4 bars of beats, or whatever, then have that loop or repeat for five minutes. Since my drum tracks are so simple right now, this would be better for me than sitting there and banging on my keyboard for five minutes, right?

The documentation that comes with the demo doesn't talk about the loop feature at all.

Can someone please explain to me in simple terms how to create a loop, and record it using Protools so I can create a five minute drum track?

Thanks so much for your help.

Battery is sample based, not loop-based (that would be Intakt then). So what you are trying to do can be done in the sequencer for instance by copying the drum sequence several times.

Battery however has a loop feature for single samples to add some kind of effect to a specific sound. For instance you can add some kind of reverb to a snare sound or quite simply trigger the same snare twice each time you hit the key, or etc... This must be described in the manual btw ;-)

Thanks for your help. I have a better understanding now. The 'manual' that comes with the demo is remarkably sparse in its explanation of anything.
