Hi guys, After trying and failing to set up my vestax typhoon with traktor LE I thought i'd ask on here.

I've been having real problems with popping/distortion, but have no way to change the latency? It's so bad that no audio came out other than distortion to begin with. I then downloaded and tried using the asio4all driver which lowered the latency from about 11ms to about 3.5ms and gave some very slight audio output, however the distortion is still far louder than the actual track. I also noticed that with this driver i couldn't set up the output routing properly as the only option appeared to be not connected?

If anyone could help it would be really appreciated!
    cheers, luke

Also, when i try and use the standard asio for typhoon driver it does not recognise that the typhoon is connected. This is going straight from the usb port to the power input on the typhoon using the included usb cable

hi and welcome to the forum,

the best way for using Traktor flawless is to optimize your system (as written in many threads here: diable wLAN, ACPI battery mode, and set all USB Power managements to high performance).
The always try to use the "own" ASIO drivers for your controller/interface.

if that fails, the ASIO4ALL is just an emergency-driver ;-)
try latency settings about 11ms - that's fast enough for 80% of the non-scratch users.
If you're not sure about your audio settings, make some screenshots and post 'em here.

I'm sure we get this goin'! :-D

Okay, thanks! I'll give these a try. Although when i tried before, i couldn't actually change the latency using the slider? It would change itself when i changed some settings but that's it?

Sorry if i'm doing something really stupid here! All this is new to me haha

Also, Should i have an external soundcard with a typhoon?

Don't know much about your typhoon - numark made some controllers with and without a soundcard.
do you have RCA or jack outs on your typhoon? if yes, it has an audio interface.

the yellow latency bar is just an indicator - no slider to adjust.
change the latency inside your audio driver.

It has rca outputs, and on the box it says that no other equipment is needed so i'll assume it has a built in soundcard?

I suppose I'll just have to keep fiddling around with driving settings until i figure it out?

Any idea on why it doesnt recognise the typhoon when using the standard asio for typhoon driver though?

Thats using the standard driver, all i get is a red audio symbol and a message telling me to plug in and select. Any other driver gives dirty amounts of distortion!

Let me know if screenshots of settings with the other drivers would be useful! Also, with the asio 4all driver i have the option to fine tune the settings much more than with the standard one
    cheers!

The setup wizard no longer seems to give me the option of using a typhoon now?
