I have a question I hope someone can answer for me ... how do I go about saving the cool sounds I make with the FM7 ? Example ... lets say I make a nifty progression using a preset sound, how would I save this so I could listen to it via a media player, etc ? Do I need some other software for this or does the non-demo version support this ? Thanks!

    saving FM7 output...

Do you talk about the standalone FM7 or do you use any VST/DXi host like Cubase? If using a Host Applikation you can save the audio output of any SW instrument as wav/mp3.
    Cubase example:
    - Set solo mode for FM7 track
    - record your stuff
    - in the master section of mixer select 'Audio Export', specify file name, type (wav/mp3/...)

In the standalone version, this can be more difficult. It depends on your soundcard, driver etc.
