I tried out the demo of Machine a few weeks ago, it was really nice, although none of the demo materail appealed to me .

It will be very cool with midi-out which I hear they will add soon that will really make for a nice package. My only problem personally is that I don't really need the controller, it didn't really sell me, I really liked the Akai, but none the less it was a really solid controller and felt really good. As far as the APP is concerned I would really has to work with it to see what it could do for me personally but I can easely see this replacing a bunch of gear for people, its more then a sampler with sequencer, it really has live performance written all over it. Lets be clear I really was annoyed when they released thinking it was a sequ with samples, basically B3 with a sequencer, left me saying, "so what" but after trying it I could easily see Machine by version 2 intergrating it with Kore being the main hub for all music creation for many people. Just drop the recorder box at the end of the chain you'll be good to go for catching that live moment.

The main thing for me is that is doesn't seem to really do much outside the 4 to the floor time but this might be something that advance as time goes on, it might also be the lack of knowing how to use it. But the same problem exists with Reaktor sequencers as well.

 

That's how I do a fair amount of my recording right now, except for that I use GR's tapedeck. I stick the tapedeck on Kore's master channel.
