NI Essentials - Authorizing updates

    Thought I'd start a new thread for this. I've now discovered that NI themselves state that it is OK to upgrade and authorize individual components of the 'Essentials' pack:

    The thing is - technical support in California told me this was not possible. Also, the authorization tool does not support authorizing individual software upgrades.

    So ... NI ... when can we expect the authorization tool to reflect what is written in your Essentials FAQ?

    Unfortunately I think you will need to "force" the different NI groups to talk with one another. I would suggest calling tech support in CA (get the person's name) and have them pull up the webpage you mention. This would "prove" that at least SOMEONE at NI believes buying updates on top of NI Essentials is legally allowed, even if the Service Center tool does not currently support it.

    I wouldn't count on the "right" people at NI to see this thread.
