Absolutely agree with that :) My main focus was on the first part of his post, it's not as capacity was taken away elsewhere to build Sounds.com

Web devs generally have a different skillset.

It's not resources, I don't think NI is poor. It's a question of priorities and money set aside for development (development of Maschine is second base clearly). Priorities are clearly being set by marketing and not influenced much by users there is absolutely no doubt about it. Anyway that's for the sequencer thread...

"There is no need for such assumptions. This was done by a totally different team, based out of LA"

...i can imagine but i would've thought that when there is such a stagnation in development on the software side (like it seems it is atm) "every man power" would go into the software...a lot of users have problems with native access, maschine has a lot of half baked implementations, what happened with stems? traktor?...what does ni do? roll out a "shop for sounds"...but like i said...if the money goes into development you can't front...

Native just landed an external investment of 50 Mio Euros plus their owners invested some Mio as well. Money is not the issue.
NI is world market leader in music software and expansion often has a price other than money, like internal structure and communication issues, finding the right people for the right jobs etc. just have a look at current and always changing vacancies.

wonder how much it cost to obtain the domain name "sounds.com"... and where is the maschine mk3 stand and when is the issue with the mk1 not working on late 2017 post high sierra macs going to be fixed.

.. though i think it great that NI is offering a "stock" sound site just like there are for "stock" photos from adobe and others. eventually you will likely see the ability to contribute and get paid for your sounds.

the pro is that it gives persons the ability to find sounds they need for a project, like for audio or movies, or even campaigns and advertising

the con it that is will hurt sound designers and others whom buy the software and sounds from NI (though they could as well use this service) and are hired to obtain or produce the sounds. instead that could be bypassed and the project manager just going direct to download stock sounds instead of hiring a sound designer or artist. (though if user were paid to contribute, this would close that hole) and the service becomes a method of distribution for them as well like adobe provides for photographers.

Does anyone know if it's possible to download entire packs? Or do you have to download each sample individually (major pain)

The service appears to be ok. For the price of 2-3 Maschine expansions per year you seem to get them all.
I only bought one expansion over the last 3 years, because they usually cover styles i dont do. For this and other reasons i'll skip this service for now.
Would be cool if there was a pay per loop model. Like, when i find a loop i like i get samples, midi file, loop for 99 cent.

Its good news one can keep the stuff and release tracks with the loops after subscription ended. well done.

I believe they stopped working on the sequencer to have Audio ready just in time for this new service. Its just too much of a coincidence and they barely made it in time.

I hope they dont stop now that one can load loops into Maschine.
I hope they expand on it to make it the looper some NI guy (Mick?) hinted at GS.
Recording into it and taking the metadata (BPM, bars, rootnote) over from the system, so it starts playing back right after recording the loop, would be the logical next steps.

Once thats done, they should get back to the sequencer.

They raised venture capital to make it happen and the service is based in the states whilst software devs appear to be bound to Berlin.
So i wouldnt see a competition there.

I hope they will suggest us a different way of creating fx tracks. Having to include that in the groups and the sounds irritates me to the highest point. This and the inability to freely position a pattern in a scene. Sorry for the flap and off topic :D

especially since it was probably in use or squatted on by one of those annoying people that bought up all the domain names for speculation... um.. one could have designed a really nice stand for the mk3 instead,

Ok, this is licensed in some way. So I subscribe and don't like it after a month of trying it out. Maybe I use some loops for a project or two before ending the subscription. I assume that if I access the project with the loops after the subscription cancels and then I'll get a warning that the loop is not found or is not licensed.

And this one. Don't laugh just because it's Phil Collins.. it has nothing to do with him.. not cool.. not trendy.. just great.. brilliantly produced by a producer and not a self proclaimed one.

I just like the fact that you posted a Mantronik track. Here's one of my favorite. It's kinda hard to believe he did all of this with 1986 technology.
