the bright synth was done in fm8. if you're a programmer this should help:

the big synth is basically all riding on one envelope in massive:

the key is to make it monophonic and turn the voices up to 8. I played around with the wave tables for a while before I found something that worked... but i remember it being a pretty fun journey.

I realize the SS might not totally get you there, but definitely close.


Hey do people care if I scrap the voting script? I'm having trouble with the authentication piece and with 5 submissions and a song that's not very well known, wondering if it makes a difference to anyway?

I realize it might be strange to have a contest without a winner, but as there's no prize, I figure it might just mean we have to do this again, perhaps with some NI material?

if anyone feels strongly, I'll finish the script, but likely it won't be close to new years.

Yeah scrap the script (good song title). I personally just like comps that allow entering and people can just discuss techniques and pick their own personal faves. Like this.
Having a clear winner and obviously losers can maybe put off some people I think.

Everyone's entry was really good and I'm glad some of you guys liked my work.

If anyone wants to know how I did anything in my song I can upload the project to my Dropbox and you can see. This is a learning experience for all of us after all.

Also I want to say I don't like the Maschine only restriction. Not being able to sidechain is a real pain. Lets just say that all your sounds need to be generated in Maschine but recording can be done outside. Would that be ok with everyone?
