a cpu increase would only happen if they used these functions, it would not effect there work flow, same way they cannot do other things due to there cpu limits,

why is it i can run 200 plugins with no problem now , before i could only use 50 but i worked around it.

those with under powered computers have ways to work around there limitations especially withing maschine and its internal sampling.

Ah, I see. Yes, you can't automate the precalc parameters. You can on the others though. In my personal case, I view those as more sound shaping tools that I wouldn't automate as much. But it would be cool to automate those.

They should implement an option to turn on/off precalc to allow for automation--if the reason is really to save CPU.

For me, I love how it supports MIDI I/O so solidly. They even included a template to map the pads for MIDI out. I love the independent pitch, repitch, and stretch controls. The repeater is sick too. The "Late" effect is cool--how it can be used to build a swing template. And, its cool how patterns can be locked or unlocked to pads with the "Global" option.

    Neat stuff.

with in Nerve, can each pad have a different pattern length?
that's one of the things that drives me crazy about maschine.

So what are people's thoughts on Nerve? Its got me into a real stick. Wait to see if NI update Maschine to include similar functionality or splash out and buy the thing itself? Do people think its worth buying if you've got Maschine?

Well yes - I've got the demo and love it! The problem is that essentially Nerve feels like what would be a part of Maschine's functionality already. Do people think the territory covered by Nerve still falls into Maschine's remit?

Good idea - I've held back on the urge to splurge and will simply play with the demo till we hear some news. Fingers crossed.

i really do hope NI are working on some sound shaping tools to really add to our drum samples to go with the already known time stretch there working on.
