So I love my X1. But... you still need a mixer right...?

I have a DJM400, A VCI-100 custom, and must say i prefer midi mixer internal control of traktor. Much more possiblities, and no other outboard gear needed.

So what I would REEEEEALLY like is... an X2:

Same size as the X1, top half the same, this would be eg and gain, bottom half has 2 volume faders, cross fader, couple of buttons and knobs for things like headphone cue... thats it = ]

All Traktor Pro midi controlled. Heaven. Lightweight too!

If you really wanted to be clever you could put the dj2? soundcard in it and voila! 2USB, Everything controlled (this would solve the macbook pro 2x usb problem )

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS NI AND START MAKING ONE :)

+1 and bump if you agree and if you would buy one.

Im sure you could COMPLETLY steal the whole dj market if you had this. x

I'm hoping they do an EKS Otus style controller so I can say bye bye to timecode. Would need to be scratch proof hi-res though, none of this jog dial stuff, haha.

haha if you've got all that you don't need the new system :p

and I'm pretty sure NI won't release it until it's well out of beta stages - they seem to already have their beta team well underway (at least with Dubfire)

+1 on an X2, actually, make it an x4 (4decks). that would just be the ultimate perfect setting for a lot of people!

    2 x1 + 1 x4 ! ultimate lightweight setup!

just don't forget to keep the 8 hotcues and the S4 sample decks! that would be Jackpot! market winner for sure!

    x2 = two channels

    +1 here

Same top, line faders plus cross fader and (mixer) buttons.

All I need to replace my old Denon x300

I know that you know that. You know that I know that. We all know that.

    You know....

    :)

Here's a thought... Why don't you guys just re-map your X1 to function as you need it? I've mapped my X1 to control all four decks in Traktor Scratch Pro. It can also be mapped to control your crossfader and volume faders. Also, the X1 can be easily switched between HID mode & MIDI mode. When switched into Midi mode, the software will see the X1 as a totally new and separate controller which can then be mapped with more functions....

true, but the x1 doesn't have XLR's or RCA outputs so it can't really be used as an external mixer, which is what most of us are talking about.

    Hi,

I know this and I was planning doing this soon. Faders are fader though. any chances to get your mapping file?

    Thanks!

Actually I was talking about pure USB. No need for fancy audio exits. My sound-card have everything all I need. Just same thing like X1 but Mixer on USB. That's all.

the thing is, if such controller would come out, with audio outputs\inputs, it would be an excellent controller for very light portable gear.

you're clearly not on the same page as most of the people, at least imho.

they should just take the middle part of the s4 with edges that "dock" to the x1! headphone out at the front and master out on the back... i would buy it! so would 80% of the djtechtools community i bet...

... while it's a great idea, I'm extremely doubtful of NIs ability to develop a solid audio device. I've just cancelled my S4 order due to the fiasco with it's audio ....

I'd be happy with a Kontrol X2 of some sort .... a crossfader and what ever else is needed for complete 'in the box' mixing.

I'm happy to live without a NI audio device ... but would love an X2 ....

Actually when playin in clubs i find x1 kinda perfect as it is.It fits every club dj table, anywhere, it isnt hassle to plug in clubs dj mixer.Using 4 decks with midi mappings and customizing it is fun, now:) only thing i miss personaly is the rewind button that acts just like real vinylp and could be stopped like record player, with pitched down fx.Some analog mixers give nice warmness and eq-s are different, lots to discover and experiment:) it would be cool if the audio 2 or 4 (probably just 2 outs and 2 in needed)that i use would be inside the x1, i mean there is some room, its quite slim:) then it will be even more unhassle with less cords:)
