TLDR: Sat down to use Maschine, updated to 2.11.1 and no none of my NI plugins will load... prior to this they did work. Unknown if this is a correlation or not but it's been an ongoing issue. Dedicated macbook just for music, so just the bare bones and NI products....

I've got a copy of Maschine on a MBP and haven't used it in a while and today decided to sit down and play for a bit. I went to 2.11.1 via native access and then went to prevue some sounds in Monark and Prism or Skanner XT and when I went to assign one to a pad, I got an error saying that "Monark could not be loaded" or "Prism could not be loaded" etc etc, yet Massive X and Absynth seem to work ok?

Mind you, this was working just fine prior now suddenly it stopped working and unfortunately this isn't the first, or second, or third time now and yes, I'm a bit frustrated at this point, even to the point that even my colleagues have noticed the amount of issues I seem to always have with Maschine :( over the years.

So my question is, why can't the developers put some helpful human readable error messages in like, "error, prism could not be loaded, Click here to rebuild the DB or submit an error ticket?"

I rebuilt the DB again....but that did not work... what else can I do now at this point other than reinstall everything all over again...

Monarch and Prism are "Reaktor" Instruments make sure Reaktor is installed and up to date.

Thanks for that, yet another instance of development at NI that could be improved. Why not prompt the user that there is an issue and to update Reaktor?

I updated Reaktor and now have a new error:

Reaktor 6 Error applying preset data: No valid reference to Ensemble in preset data.

So at this point, just about every single time I sit down to use Maschine some error or bug hinders the creative process and my muse and creativity take a back seat to fielding technical nonsense like this and my enjoyment of Maschine is really taking a hit now.

I do appreciate the heads up on Reaktor, thought it would work but yet another bug exists :(

Did you open Reaktor in Standalone mode prior to using it as a Plugin?

    You don't have a "relocate" option ?

Coincidently I saw a (unrelated to NI) dev talking about this subject the other day, my understanding is it's basically a lot of work for the developers to add error messages for every possible error scenario, especially if that wasn't a consideration from the start. It's probably not a high development priority to code all the error handling now.
With that said Maschines error handling/reporting is pretty annoying and needs some improving, at least error code numbers that we can research would be better than "Can't be loaded", a lot of apps use this "error 3453" then we just look for it on a FAQ or something.

Yes it’s an additional amount of work that is often not visible to the user (if they don’t get into errors). Not as sexy as a new algorithm or so, and not ideal for marketing purposes. But very useful. In an ideal world...
