    Hello,
I'm thinking about buying a new Komplete Kontrol s88 mk2
As a UE resident I would like to ask, why there is a price difference between buying it as a UK resident (799 gbp) and buying in in the rest of EU (999 euro). Isn't it a violation of EU consumer rights to price discriminate based on nationality and/or country of residence? Anyone cares to explain or has any knowledge?

I think it´s the same why we (not NI) often have to pay VAT although the company is in the same country...VAT for digital, something I´ll NEVER understand

maybe NI took a bad exchange rat for GBP into €uro, but very often we in EU (me german, you pole) pay more than the US, but now also advantage when buying from UK is new for me - maybe the Brexit-thing? don´t know, I´m not so political since we got EU...

The price gap for sure existed a year ago. That is why I ordered my Maschine mk3 + KU11 from the UK online shop - it was significantly cheaper. Now all the UK shops geoblock me and give the euro price. This change happened only a few days ago and for all the shops, so I suspect it is orchestrated by NI itself (one shop representative a bit vaguely, but confirmed it).
At least for US-EU price difference there is a justified explanation (VAT mainly), but in the Common Market area I can see no explanation for such outright discrimination.

Well, after investigating the matter more deeply I found that consumer protection organizations were actively (and succesfully) fighting this kind of malevolent practices in the past. Moreover, as of 03.12.2018 it will be expressively forbidden for online shops offering shipping to other EU countries to redirect you to different (for example local, offering different prices) version of the site without your consent. For a second I wondered if the result will be that we are no longer being screwed or the Britons start being screwed on equal level... but I think I know the answer... :(

It was the other way around for me with regard to my last round of DJ kit. I bought from Germany because it was way cheaper than buying exactly the same gear from the UK.

Don't worry, us Brits will get well and truly shafted come Brexit next March
