NI S2 MK2 terrible performance Traktor DJ iOS

hi all

i posted this in the S2 section but didn't get a response, so this section may be more appropriate-

just bought an S2 MK2.

works fine on my mac, which upgraded the firmware to 16?? i think- didn't pay close attention- but it appears to be the latest

plugged it into my iPhone4 with iOS 7.1.1 and the performance is dreadful. i am wondering if there is something wrong with the unit??

ie, the crossfader, takes about a whole second to respond, same with the volume faders.
the jog wheel barely works and sounds terrible, skipping or not responding at all
often the music just stops and the app seems unresponsive- im guessing this is not normal..

i tried it on my wifes phone too, same problem. ios 7.1.1
reset the phone, put it in airplane mode- nothing seems to work..

it's unusable.. has anyone else seen these symptoms? is it supposed to work as fast as traktor pro? or is traktor DJ a dodgy version of traktor?

Traktor DJ is a very dodgy version of Traktor, it has been plagued with problems from the start and it takes NI about 6-8 months on average to come out with any updates to try and correct problems, but every time they release an update, something else breaks.

 

am using it quite happily with Traktor DJ for iPad - no issues. Not tried it on the iphone though - will have a go tonight and report back.

Hi, i might have the answer, i think is your iphone 4, i have the same issue with my traktor z1 and my itouch 4g, the iphone 4 and itouch 4 barely support traktor dj, and when i use the z1 with the ipad 3 it runs good

 

Tried it with my iPhone 5C over the weekend and it worked fine. Doubt it's the S2 causing you problems if it works ok with your laptop. Maybe try re-installing the app on the iPhone?

 

Ipad 2 is known to have problems with s2mk 2 if on ios7 due to ios7 processing power needed.

 

i suspect iphone4 is underpowered for the software- why would NI say it's supported when it clearly doesnt work as intended on the iphone4.
