    Hey all...

I find once updates are released, it's almost impossible to find out if they are compatible with older operating systems. For instance Maschine 2.4... the update info in Service Center, or in the download section of the support part of the website, makes no mention of which operating systems are supported.

I deliberately stay an operating system or two behind to maintain stability and productivity... still happily running 10.8.5. It would however be nice to know if I can update some of my products without the need to change operating systems.

Have I missed some magic place where all the compatibility info is stored?

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the prompt reply Jonas,

Looks like I'll have to wait until the end of the year for some downtime to update operating system and apps. Would have bought a Kontrol keyboard too if Mavericks wasn't a requirement for most of the apps that support them. Next year perhaps.

Is there a Maschine ninja available to take a look at my post regarding Audio Export signal flow?

    Hi Jonas,

Still some confusion... the compatibility chart says Komplete 10 Installer is good for Mountain Lion. However, if I check the specs of Komplete libraries like Action strings etc, Service Center doesn't specify an operating system version for the latest update, and the product page specs say Mavericks is required. There always seems to be a grey area with this stuff.

Do I assume all Komplete instruments are fine for Mountain Lion? Or do I follow strictly the requirements on the individual product pages?

Hey Belgur, I'll check with our support and get back to you on that.

Alright @Belegur NI I have some news. It is indeed a bit confusing as the original Komplete 10 Installer is supported on OS.X 10.8 but the most recent versions of individual plug-ins are not. You will not be able to use all products of Komplete 10 on 10.8.5 and I would therefor recommend to update your OS. The only workaround would be if you still had access to the old installers, however these are not officially supported anymore.
The requirements on the individual product pages are the way to go here.
    Cheers

No worries @Jonas @ NI. Thanks for trying to clear that up. It's still confusing for most of the Kontakt instruments. For example... Alicias Keys... not listed individually on the OS X 10.8 compatibility chart, Service Center says version 1.5 but no OS requirements, product page says requires Kontakt 5 (but not which version)... Kontakt product page says 10.9 required. When you search for the update downloads on the website, they don't usually say system requirements. So it would be very useful to have a version history list, with OS compatibility.

I might be going from Maschine MK1 to a Studio and Kontrol S49 soon... so at some point I'll have to update to take advantage of NKS with several of my third party products. Just can't have a gap in productivity until the years end... would be easier if OS X could just be updated without having to re-install everything again :/
