    Hi!

I've recently purchased NI's Symphony Series String Ensemble, and am eager to start using it. But I can't figure out how to get my keyboard to play the different sections of the symphony with the velocity or touch I play on the keyboard. There should be a simple solution to this, right? There is a knob where I can manually decrease or increase velocity, but I am interested in how I can play the strings as if I was playing the piano, only with strings sound. Any help?

There's no option to do that, AFAIK. Strings are played with continuous bow movement, and this is what you will get with modwheel while you play along. Great majority of string libraries work exactly this way, and for good reason.

I see. Hmm, just seems kind of odd. But I'm quite new to the world of symphony vst's, so maybe that's the real issue, hehe.

I just loaded the Symphony Series String Ensemble for the first time, and found the lack of velocity responsiveness a bit odd. I get the reasoning behind this, and for single voices, this is how I like it too. The problem comes when you use the big ensemble patch, and you have no way to enhance certain notes. Say, you play four voices, but you want to bring out the Violas a bit. With the right amount of velocity sensitivity, this would be possible. So why not have a knob on the interface, that routes velocity to Dynamics, so one can dial in a bit if needed?
