    Hi.
i guess after installing the update to Kore2 i have a new start-item entry called: NIHardwareAgent.

i guess this is some sort of driver for Kore and Maschine Hardware-Interfaces. Thing is, i only have the software-version of kore2 and i'd rather not have items i don't need clogging up my start item folder – plus having an extra driver in the background running all the time, is not really what i want.

The problem is, when i remove the NIHardwareAgent from my start items, i magically adds itself again to this list. is there a way to remove this completely?

any help or insight is highly appreciated.

    my system is:

Macbook Pro unibody 2.4 Ghz, 4 GB Ram, OS X 10.6.1 (i had this problem also under 10.5)

The only sure way I know is to uninstall and reinstall from the original DVD, then update to 2.1. When you update to 2.1, uncheck the controller editor in the menu that lets you choose what to install.

    thanks for the answer ew.

as i don't want to loose all rating and stuff during a reinstall, is it safe to just delete the controller folder and the files attached to the driver?

I couldn't say- I'm not a Mac user. I'll ask some people if there's an easy way to disable it.

Have you unlocked your system preferences before deleting the NI Hardware Agent? Otherwise nothing will happen...

EDIT: Checked it again. You can change start items without unlocking system preferences. On my machine the NI Hardware Agent is gone after deleting the start item. Maybe you should check your harddrives. No idea.

on mine it is gone aswell. but re-appears magically some days later (maybe when i start kore again)

i just want to get rid of the whole hardware-driver installation stuff. because i simply don't need it.

    doesn't anyone know?
i'm not fond of reinstalling everything just to see, that all my ratings and stuff are gone.
