    Hi all!
Totally new here, and to the (vast) world of synth, VSTs, DAW, etc.
About two months ago, I bought a Fishman TriplePlay synth for a new guitar I got.
I installed all the included software (many gigs!) and a few days ago I found some Kontakt freebies to be used in TriplePlay, Kontakt.
Some of those freebies are "Piano in 162", "Clare Solo", Carpenter Trombone", "Glockenspiel" and others. Apparently, they were in DEMO mode when I installed them because after about 10-12 minutes turn back into DEMO mode requesting to be activated. I clicked on the Activate button which opened up the Service Center software.

At first, they seemed to be activated, since I receive a green check saying that my software were now all activated. But now, I open Kontakt 5 Player, I am still in DEMO mode. Go figure!

How do I activate those products?

    Thank you for your help.

Do you have the free Kontakt Player or the full version of Kontakt?

Because it looks like "Piano in 162", "Clare Solo" and Carpenter Trombone (from Ivy Audio) is not a Kontakt Player Library, but requires the full version of Kontakt to run. So if you only have the free Kontakt Player that's probably the reason why they are still running in Demo Mode ...

Hi - I have a similar problem - I have downloaded Bravura Scoring Brass by Impact Soundworks - it's all registering as it should, but only in demo mode. When the 'demo timeout' message appears I click on the 'activate' button and get a message telling me that to lift demo restrictions I need to activate Kontakt 5 using Service Centre, but my Kontakt 5 free player has been working for ages and is used regularly with other instruments, so I can't see why it needs to be activated again (nor can I see how to do it anyway, it already says 'activated' in Service Centre). Having scoured the net I've seen lots of similar queries where the answer is simply as above, 'you need full the Kontakt player for it to work properly', but I have checked that complete Bravura Brass is supposed to work with the free Kontakt player, so I don't know what else to do.
    Any ideas?
    I have Kontakt 5.5.1 on a Mac OS X 10.8.5.

    Many thanks,

    Phil

You have to ensure that the instrument you're using works with "the free" Kontakt player. A lot of quality instruments require the full version of kontakt. Chck the instructions for the instrument you downloaded.

I'm pretty sure that it doesnt matter what the instrument says, Kontakt player still has its time limit restrictions. The instrument may work with it but Kontakt I still the primary host, so it still applies.

No, it is supposed to work with the free Kontakt player, NI have confirmed this, they just haven't been able to find out why it isn't working for me, though they are trying.
This is from the Bravura Brass home page - I don't think they could get away with saying it works with the free player if it didn't.

You need to activate Bravura with the serial number you got when purchasing the library (check the e-mail and your ISW account).

This activation (just like for any other Kontakt Player library) is separate from Kontakt Player activation. Each KP library needs to be activated on its own.

As EvilDragon already mentioned you need to activate the library separately.
All the necessary info is in the included manual - on page 2 !: https://impactsoundworks.com/product/bravura-scoring-brass-complete/

Yes, it's all activated, the NI Service Centre recognises this fact, as you can see from this screen shot. The instruments all load up and play, but only in demo mode, which implies that everything's there, but somehow the Kontakt player is missing something. As I say above, when I click on the 'activate' button which comes up with the 'demo timeout' message, it says I need to activate Kontakt... but Kontakt is already activated and has been for some time.

Have you already tried to update Kontakt Player 5 to the latest version?
Did you already run Kontakt Player in standalone mode?
And did you already reboot your computer, just in case?

Well, I'm on 5.5.1, and it says it should operate on 5.4 and above - I'm not sure if I can go higher on my system. The NI team sent me a file to put into my NI folder (Bravura Scoring Brass.xml) which they seemed to think would solve the problem, but it hasn't. Very frustrating. But please don't discount the possibility that I could be missing something very stupidly obvious, it wouldn't be the first time! Thanks for your efforts too, I'm really at a loss here.

You could also try to reinstall your current Kontakt Player version 5.5.1.
Or try to reinstall Service Center: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/

Might be the case that somehow (for whatever reason) the Kontakt Player didn't get the activation info from Service Center ...

Thanks, I've tried reinstalling Service Centre but to no avail - I'll see how I get on with the player itself. Thanks again.

No, no good. I tried uninstalling Kontakt 5, didn't work, and I've just tried trashing all the Bravura files and re-downloading them, but I'm still getting the demo mode. I've contacted NI about this but since their first reply I've heard nothing more, and nothing from the Bravura people either.

In which folder did you put this file? The exact path, please.

Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center

But I'm thinking this is a problem with the Bravura package itself. As I said before it states clearly on their web page that it is compatible with the free Kontakt player, but when the demo times out and you are prompted to click 'activate' you get the message below, which would imply it wants you to activate the full paid-up version of Kontakt. I didn't realise this at first, what with the free and full versions having such similar names, but I feel sure this must be at the root of the problem. Any ideas on how to get around it? I can't use the full Kontakt player because I'm on Mac OS X 10.8.5, and I think the full player needs 10.10 or higher.

Bravura is definitely a Kontakt Player library, works here just fine, is activated...

This is kinda wrong. Only the current version of Kontakt 5 (5.6 onwards) need 10.10 and higher. If you're on 5.4.1, that should be fine on 10.8.5, no matter if it's Player or Full (it's the same application, the difference is in the license). So, if you have a serial number for Kontakt, activate it in Service Center, it should work just fine.

One last question: you got the full Bravura, or a-la-carte individual instruments/ensembles? The latter only works in FULL Kontakt, not in Kontakt Player.

IT WORKS! But only (apparently) because I paid the extra £209 to upgrade to full Kontakt, which wasn't the deal they (Bravura) offered, but anyway, at least I can use it for other instruments too - and now I can finally get on with things.

Many thanks to all of you who tried to help, it's all been very much appreciated.

    Cheers!
