EDIT: They are pretty great! Some are quiet though, others a bit too loud. It is a good idea to follow NI's guidelines for normalizing the previews, though. If you don't have NKS SDK you wouldn't know, but I will tell them, it's a good practice anyways.

1. All previews need to be normalized to -19 LUFS first
2. If after normalizing to -19 LUFS there exist previews with a true peak above -3 dB, normalize them down to -3 dB peak (not LUFS).


I do this in Reaper with SWS extensions installed. This is the procedure:

1. Load all previews onto a track (preferably original WAV format)
2. Run the action SWS/BR: Global loudness preferences..., and set the 0 LU reference level to -19 LUFS (manually typing it, not selecting a value from the menu)
3. Select all previews and run SWS/BR: Normalize loudness of selected items to 0 LU action.
4. Run SWS/BR: Analyze loudness... action and press "Analyze selected items" button, wait until everything's analyzed. Then sort the entries by True peak column.
5. All items that are above -3 dBTP should be selected, and then run Xenakios/SWS: Normalize selected takes to dB value... action, typing -3 dB in the dialog.
6. Render all selected items (without tail!) to OGG from Reaper.



EDIT #2: Here are your previews for Pro-53, all normalized with the above method. Lemme know when you get them so I can remove them from my Drive, and you can update your pack on your OneDrive. Cheers!

haha thanks - I'm likely to be slower than you though as I'm doing this by hand, no scripting, but I can also then be more precise with tagging that way (annoying how many of the Diversion patches are wrongly tagged in Diversion - I will correct that)

Υou can now delete the files from your GoogleDrive.You have right. Your previews is much much better! I do a simple normalization procedure but with audacity (wich is stuck sometimes) at -3db only
That explains why some files have different volume level. Reaper is my DAW so i create a custom action according to your instructions
As for NKS SDK can you talk to NI? I really like to explore new practices

Thanks I had made one already for myself (just txt though) for the banks I'm converting (which is just the factory banks at the moment) as it does make it easier to copy/paste names - I'm up to pads, then SEQ/FX and will be done, probably this evening, apart from deeper level tagging which may take another evening

 

Oh yes. Τhe tagging especially at the deep level needs a lot of patience!

 

Don't make a custom action, a custom action won't be able to sort things by true peak and only pick items that are above -3 dBTP (you need to do that manually in the Analyze loudness dialog)... It's safer to do the steps one by one manually.

Just the last of the tagging to do now - it can actually be enjoyable with a good synth with good presets - like you really get to know them (same with mapping actually, my first job with any new plugin is to map it - not only does it immediately give me the handson control I prefer to have, but it helps me break down and understand its structure and learn how the parts relate to the whole).

But it does take time.

 

Diversion Factory NKS patches are now in the Diversion folder in the KK Templates Pack (link in sig) - all sorted into sub banks and tagged

All original factory patches (over 300) but not done the free addon 'Collaborations' patches that were added later - not had time for those yet

Yes please, when you have time. You will need to use the NKS versions not the original patches as I changed patchnames to remove prefixes like 'PAD' etc and preset maker initials which are just unnecessary in KK as these are all tags.
