Using the free Kontakt 5 Player with Factory Selection Library installed, both activated, but need to Add Library manually every start up.

Have selected Automatically add loaded / saved files to databe.

The content is shown in Database, but selecting an instruments results in the error 'This patch is encrypted and cannot be loaded unless the respective Library is registered properly.

    any ideas?

Update Kontakt Player to v5.0.2, try redownloading from NI's site.

I have the v5.0.2, redownloaded it too, still.

The Factory Settings Library was (automatically) installed on a different location then the player; but it shouldn't matter, right?

Just an idea, if you're on Windows 7, - try running Kontakt standalone "as Administrator"(right-click the shortcut for the menu) and Add / Activate the Library there.

Windows 7 adds protection for several folders and Registry keys which can hinder writing to those locations. XP does not have that feature.

ED has confirmed that Kontakt 5 works OK on XP - however NI has not tested it fully / certified it on XP so it is not supported on that OS.
