has battery 3 been tested? i have been a long time user of NI products and this is the worse i have ever seen.

is it possible to preview a cell sound before loading it?

with the studio drums and battery 1 sample you cant use the compressor/eq on individual cells. is this a bug or a feature?

battery 3 does a poor job of slicing loops compared to intakt.

i can not load battery 3 as a vst into live or cubase.

on paper battery 3 looks like a great product but in practice it just does not work.

i am not a pro or semi-pro but i do look forward to writing a tune or messing with my studio stuff but having battery 3 on my system and cant use it is very frustrating.

i was hoping for a update today if only to use it as a vst but i quess not.

all i ask is for NI to inform us how bad the problems are and when we can expect an update.

NI i plan on supporting you in the future because your products make it possible for me to do something i love each and everyday but be honest with me and let me know what the status of battery 3 is. are we days, weeks or months away from an update. i think that is only fair since i have paid for the product all ready.

    there is no disrepect intended.

    just let us know.

    thank you

    by the way

i am mwalker and i am a music software junkie.

Hey, just thought I'd comment here.. My comments are directed to NI, not against you Mwalker.

I bought Battery 2 last year because I thought it would allow me to do the things I wanted to do. I had to wait until this year for that to happen. During that time, the many bugs etc made me think I should look for another software app to use that would actually WORK how it said it does. BUt because I'd spent money on it, I tried to persevere with B2. I was actually just about to change over to another program when they released the update for B2, and so I stuck with it. It STILL didn't work 100% how it should, but I figured what the hey. Now B3 is in the same boat, and I gotta say you'll probably be waiting a while for any bug fixes, and even then they might just move to Battery 4 and say you have to pay for the update (which is the position I'm in currently, but they can f*** off if they think I'm going to pay them more money for more buggy software).

If I were you, I wouldn't say "you'll still support NI regardless". Why would they bother changing their shoddy business practices if you are going to stick around anyway? We paid money for software that doesn't work as advertised.

If I were you, I'd look at returning B3. Get out while you can! Fxpansion Guru seems like a good alternative. Disrespect intended.

...as bad as Kontakt 2 in the beginning? Or even worse? Boy, no wonder there is no demo...

I am with you on this. I believe the product has been tested but they have done a poor job. From what I have heard almost everyone who bought this new product including myself has major problem with it. And what is worse these peoples at NI will not try to calm down the frustrated customers. Their response time is very slow and it seems like you are bothering them. The same way they advertised their future new product realease on their webiste, why can't they publish when the updates for Battery 3 is going to be available. Spending money to buy something and the fact that it is sitting there and not able to use it is really realy frustrating.

Yes, the new line of products (Massive, Battery 3, FM8,...) seem to have a very bad quality. They are full of bugs (even after the first update) and those bugs are really very serious. For example if you are using two Massive VST plugins simultaneously, when you change the sound of the first, the sound of the second will also be affected in a weird way!! This is only one from the 5-10 bugs I collected in a few days.

But the greatest problem I have is that if I try to use Battery 3 and Massive simultaneously as VST plugins in Cubase, the system freezes sometimes and after rebooting the system the software says that my system has changed so I have to reactivate the product. I discoverd today (shocked) that I have used up all of my two authorizations. I have problems using Massive and Battery3 since one month and I am very upset by now.

...and NI' support is ridiculous, they cannot resolve my problem (10 emails, 2 phone calls, one month, no solution).

I think you are right, there is no solution left other than return the software. If the amount of returned products and the loss associated with it gets as high as the salary of 1 additional man who would be responsible for the actual testing of NI products, then we can hope they will pay for this particular person. (I say only one person because I was able to find at more then 10 (serious) bugs in a few hours, and I was not looking for bugs.) They understand only the language of money I guess. I we pay, they laugh only.
