I recently bought FM8 and I've been using it for about a week now and it wasn't until now that I noticed that it's impossible to assign an op's envelope ADSR parameters to midi controls ! This is a dealbreaker for me and quite frankly I even feel a bit cheated. I really find it strange NI wouldn't include such a standard feature in an FM synth as it's one of the key ways to make sounds evolve. Am I missing something ?

See the Easy/Morph page, those envelope controls are automatable.

Obviously. I meant the parameters in the env section.

These forums are always so full of precious advices...

You'll find a lot of knowledge in this thread :
    https://www.native-instruments.com/...nvs-control-points-cc-mid-automations.263415/

Irony over, back to something usefull...

Only solution would be to duplicate the carrier, assign different envelopes and use the morph feature to emulate what you expected...

In this regard the basic Max/msp tutorial patch "simple" fm is more advanced enveloppe wise as the almighty FM8...
