    Hi Folks,

I hope somebody out there can give me some advice before I lose the plot. I've just purchased Traktor scratch Duo package with the audio 4. I made an unbelievably stupid error... Despite having used Traktor many times before on a friends setup, I totally neglected to realise that it requires a line input on the mixer...

Well, I own a Vestax PMC 07 Pro ISP, and surprisingly despite its ridiculous price tag (I never paid anything CLOSE to the RRP for it ;)) it doesn't have a line switch!

Unreal right... Well I've been looking online, and some people have recommended a line to phono converter, but all I've found is phono input to line output. I think I need a line input to phono output, and even then I duno if that will work. I've heard it works for CDJ's from some other forum posts I've found along the way, but I'm wondering if there is any body out there who has any direct experience with using Traktor on a mixer that doesnt have line inputs?

Will a converter work at all? I'm looking at various options, but this looks like my best so far (I'm looking for the cheapest possible solution, after forking out for traktor I'm not keen on spending another couple o hundred bucks jus to get it working.

Thanks in advance for any help suggestions or abuse (I really should have seen this coming so I deserve it hahaha)

Yup, I did for lotsa my friends with their mixers and my DJM600 & DJM800. Now the DJM800 digital/line switch is use to switch between Phono/Line.

Thanks guys! Appreciate your input... (baaaad joke)

That thing on mcm looks like what I need, for the price, just a shame they don't ship to The Netherlands.

I went around town today looking for one, plenty of offers for phono to line but they looked baffled when I asked for the other way round  I guess it isn't a common need.

And yeh, the ISP is a different version of the normal 07 Pro, its a sweet mixer thats why I'd hate to have to get rid of it because of this. And I once had the faceplate signed by Q bert at a gig in Ireland, most of its worn off now, but the memory remains :-D

    Thanks again for your help!

That's a pretty good idea, better than A&H's implementation (changing a jumper on the circuit board, meaning you need to pull the thing apart first)

I'd love to have my 08 signed by Q. I'd grab an 07ISP just for the rarity but that power supply is too fragile. I hate external PSUs. I'm an Ecler man now. They care to give you an IEC-compatible power jack, for convenience and savings.

Yup, and if you want to push it to another level.. you could also use the Digital in RCA for the new line input... at least it give you 2 stereo in. Pretty complete & versatile setup.

I hate external PSU too, but it has it's own advantages: less chances to introduce transformer hum, and give you the chance to have a spare one... HOWEVER if the external one blow, there's some chances something else in the AC chain could also have blow too. External PSU often also mean... tiny and cheap connectors, not my cup of tea... RANE is one example with their 'telephone alike' psu connectors. It's a decent idea for fixed setup though.

A decent mixer will not hum with an internal PSU (see my Korg, Ecler, and even the craptastic d.2 Pro I had before).

Also, every time something went horribly wrong power-wise on any of my external-PSU mixers, it was the wallwart that was the problem.

Rane's RJ-style power connector is a joke. This is why I'm on the lookout for a 56s but never touched the $300 TTM56 offered to me recently.

So basically with the adapters you will be able to use the 07 pro ISP with timecode vinyl but will not have the option to use real vinyl with traktor with out unplugging the adapter and plugging phono line in to input? Little slow off the hop here as am totally new to digital but thinking thats the "solution", which does kind of suck as mixer was a lot and so was traktor pro. Not being able to switch back and forth seamlessly is weak! oh well... excuse to get another mixer.
