    This is interesting:

"Note: The de-activation option has been removed from this page."

    What does that mean?

We have to contact reg support to deactivate old profiles!

    Anyone?

Oh good grief ! I sincerely hope this is temporary due to some kind of reorganisation ...

They haven't just removed the deactivation option, they've removed ALL OF THE INFORMATION pertaining to activation's - so we can no longer see how many activation's we have in place, nor the dates or operating systems! Leaving aside the fact that those of us with several machines, Komplete (3 possible activation's), and various other assorted historical NI products really need all this info available to us, even if we've meticulously kept track of it all, what about situations where we want to check what *we* believe we have activated against what NI's server does ? Not all of our machines are connected to the web, and in any case, ServiceCenter is such a PITA unresponsive dog of an app even when it is working; and it doesn't display the date info that the reg page did.

If this isn't temporary, I think this is completely unacceptable. And if it is temporary, you might have had the common sense to make a statement to that effect, NI - for heavens sake PLEASE don't invite another spate of bad feeling from your user base.

    Hello everybody,

Don't worry, it's actually good news. There is simply no need to deactivate existing activations within your account any longer, because the real-time check on the number of stored activations has been removed. Even though more than two activations at a time are still legally not allowed, the system does not require the deactivation of an existing activation to issue a new one. I hope this is clear enough, I will let the online team know to clarify this right on the activation page.

    Regards, Thomas

    Phew!

Not sure I really understand the implications of all of this, but thanks for the prompt response, Thomas (hope NI are paying you overtime! - or do they have you on night-shift ? :D ).

Might I mildly point out that some kind of explanation of the change on the relevant site page *ahead* of worried posts would have been both extremely useful - and virtually cost free.

    Bugs ?
I can wait for fixes or make alternative plans.

Lack of accurate, honest information ?
    That's unforgivable. Always.

If I understand correctly, that does sound like excelent news.

Hope there's enough protectin in-place to still keep piracy to a minimum.

I guess the thiing is that: a serial number is tied to a user ID and password, so someone else can't just steal your serial numbers and install.

If you have indeed removed the manual management of activations and made it easier for us to manage than I applaud the change.

So if I'm about to do a reformat/reinstall of everything (including K4) on my currently-registered machine, I'll be able to reactivate without having done anything beforehand?

    thanks,
    Loyd

ok so I gather that if I have already installed Komplete 4 on 2 computers and I am purchasing a new computer that I will be able to activate Komplete 4 on my new computer? If this is true how exactly does this work? What is the process since we no longer need to deactivate one of the computers?

As much info as possible would be much appreciated since this fact is directly influencing the purchase of my next machine. thnx in advance. :)

You can simply activate Komplete 4 on the third machine, no deactivation or other special process required.

So I just go through the regular installation process on my third machine and everything should be fine?

I have two computers with Komplete 4 that I am moving to Intel Processor Computers. I do not need to deauthorize anything? and I can do a third machine?

Yes and yes. Though the license legally only allows you to have the software installed on two machines at a time.

Im having problems with battery 3 which i had previously installed on 2 PCs

Moved to a Mac. Not only was it really complicated to install it wont allow me to activate it.

Installed Kontakt2 with no problems as I had only installed one previous copy.

Doesnt matter if im in standalone or in cubase, when I try to activate it, I bring up the user center and it says all of my products have been activated and there it stays.

This is getting pretty annoying. Reinstalled several times.

    Hi carbohydron,

I did not exactly understand the Battery problem you have yet. Is it starting in demo mode? What files are not installed? Do you get an error message from the installer therefore?

Hi, I am building a new PC (new BIOS, CPU, HD's, etc..) to replace an existing one which will have the OS wiped and reinstalled for my guitarist and he can install whatever he has planned to install (and owns). I still have physical official Komplete 2, Komplete Care 2005->Komplete Care 2006->Komplete 4 to install. This will not be an issue doing a reinstall (if Acronis TrueImage Universal Restore doesn't pan out well) of the older product up to K4? I have K5 upgrade coming as well which hopefully will arrive this week.

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike
