    Hi guys,

I'm having the EXACT same problem. The difference is that I'm using AUDIO 8 DJ, and both Kore and Kontak are not getting any MIDI input signal. I'm owner of TRAKTOR and this program does recognize MIDI input so my guess is that the problem should be in the update, since I had no trouble before with KP.

I need to add that I'm using the free versions of kore player and kontak, so i'm not getting any official support, and thats why im here looking around for a quick solution, glad to see that other people are having the same issue

Hi John, did you have any luck?
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium, could that be the problem? On MIDI Configuration in both Kore and Kontakt players the midi inputs from the Audio 8 DJ are off, I tried reinstalling, unplugging and pluggin the Audio 8, restarting, etc.
I thought it was a broken cable or the sound card, but if I run Traktor everything works just fine. Thanks for your time

Click on where it says off; you'll get a menu to turn them on..

Hi ew: Clicking the inputs/outputs "on" will fix sbenegul's problem. I'll bet.
But in my Kore and Kontakt Players my MIDI configurations are "on" so my problem lies elsewhere.
Hi sbenegul: please let us know if you fix your problem.

    EW:
How about this: I opened the B4 Demo that I hadn't used in quite a while and it worked just fine. I went back to Kore and it was still no input. Went back to B4 and it was silent-no input. Checked the audio and MIDI settings in B4 and they were as they should be.

Hi ew, thanks a lot, I didn't realize the "off" legend was a clickeable button! Everything is working fine now, it was a pretty stupid problem actually hehe... sorry for wasting your time guys.

I know that's not the case with you, John.
Let me ask a couple people and see if they have any ideas.

A clarification,ew. Re the B4. I realize that the reason it shut down was because it timed out after 30 minutes. The important thing to note though is that B4 is receiving the MIDI signal.

Hi, ew: an update: I uninstalled Kontakt Player and installed the newer Kontakt 3 Demo, and it works fine. I also reinstalled the Factory Selection Library, had it showing as a Library Box in the Browser, but after experimenting with the program for a while, I lost the FSL. The Library box is gone, the Library Tab is gone and the hierarchial listing for the FSL is not present either. Reading the Getting Started manual, I see reference to an ADD Library button. How do I find that?
I suspect that I must have deleted FSL by mistake while I was in experimental mode with the program. The basic factory content works fine.
Kore Player is still not working.

    ?

The library tab shouldn't be gone.

It is.. Tabs are: Files Database Monitor Modules Engine Auto. No Library tab.
Re Kore. I downloaded ASIO4ALL on a hunch and selected it as the audio driver instead of Direct Sound, left the MIDI input as SB MIDI UART and it now works. Reverted back to Direct Sound and got no MIDI input. I don't understand it completely, but I'm happy to be able to use Kore Player again after so many weeks,
Now, if I can figure out where the Factory Selection Library went I'll be 100% with NI.

Hmm... are you possibly in K3 demo mode instead of the player mode?

Yes, you're right. But that suggests I can toggle between demo and player modes. How?

I'll have to ask; I have the full version of Kontakt so the player's redundant in my case.

    Hi ew:
Have you figured out how I can toggle between Demo and Player modes?

Oh, jeez; I'm not thinking. Try clicking on the icon that looks like a folder and close/reopen the left pane. Does it work now?

Clicking the folder opens and closes the Browser pane as it is designed to do.
Thinking this over after reading again all the user manuals I have, I am coming to the conclusion that this version of Kontakt 3 that I have is Demo only, despite what it may say about the Player being incorporated into the Kontakt 3/Player. In other words, the Player is not accessable from this Demo version.
I will peruse the Kontakt forums to see if this issue has appeared there recently.I don't think I should trouble you further here, ew. I can use the program as intended from the Files tab, but the Demo mode timing out after 30-minutes is a pain. Thanks for your patience. If you or anyone can tell me how to swich from Demo to Player, please let me know.
