No MIDI Signal in Kontakt 5

When I use Kontakt 5 as standalone, or as an AU plug in, I'm getting no midi signal in. I'm clicking on the blue notes of the built in keyboard and nothing is happening in either the AU or stand alone instance. I am not using and MIDI keyboard or other hardware. I'm using the sample Virtual Drumline 2.5.5. (I'm not sure that helps). I've tried adjusting the MIDI input to all ports (A, B, C, D) and the MIDI output (just on and off).

I am very new to this and need some guidance. Thanks in advance.

Hello slothgoodman and welcome to the forum.

Just to check - when you click on the virtual keyboard do you see the levels in the instrument meter's move?

Also, what have you set up as the audio output device in the [File] menu > Options > Audio tab? And in the MIDI tab (for input)? No need for any MIDI out.

It's best to keep the MIDI Port set to A, for the moment. And check the audio output channel selected for the instrument ("st1" is good, for the moment)

 

Similar issue here. I recently upgraded from Kontakt 4 to 5 and now can only use my keyboard MIDI controller in Kontakt in "stand-alone" mode only. I cannot use my controller within my DAWs (Sonar X3 and Cubase 7.5). I am triggering sample sounds within my DAWs, but only with my mouse in the Kontakt sampler window's GUI virtual keyboard at the bottom of the sampler. All my MIDI settings seem to be correct as my keyboard controller works fine when running Kontakt as stand-alone. How can I "reset" ALL settings in Kontakt? Will this help? Hope someone can help. Thanks.
