no modulation of filters in Kontakt?

seems strange to me, and an oversight that i'm sure would have had people talking.. but... in Kontakt, if i option/click (mac) a parameter knob.. like filter cutoff, the only source i get for modulation is MIDI REMOTE. meaning, i can't use the LFOs, envelopes, step modulator, etc. to modulate filter .. this is true for every other parameter in Kontakt except for volume and panning.

i find it hard to believe that all of those powerful envelopes and LFOs can only be used to modulate volume and pan.

so.. what am i doing wrong? why won't any mod. sources appear for my parameters?

Funny - you DO get the same LFO?Modulation options on Filters, etc, when you right-click in the PC version, anyway.

 

upon further investigation.. yes, i still cannot modulate the filters, or lo fi effects, (and others i'm sure i haven't tried) with anything other than MIDI REMOTE.

i *can* however, modify reverb amount.. strange.

i should email this to NI.

mac dual 1ghz OS 9.2.2
purchased the PC version, downloaded the mac crossgrade and installed.

 

I can modulate the filters on my Kontakt Mac. I just can't get the tempo sync to lock with ProTools. To modulate, add a filter to the source (right + button), then in the filter window pulldown the left + button, and add whatever kind of LFO you want. To change to tempo sync, click the Hz area in the frequency of the LFO to change it to a rhythmic figure. It's trying to sync, but never gets there.

 

yeah.. that's the problem.. i don't have a left + button! only the right one.. (to add additional effects)

no left one!

maybe i should try re-installing it...

I'm just facing the problem here on mac and Kontakt 2... I can drag modulators to some parameters like volume, but *not* to filter freq of insert fx. Your description makes me curious...I want to assign an external controller to the filter frequency -- !?

o.k. I got it, it's not possible with the instrument inserts, but it works with the group inserts. Place for improvement here!
