    Hello!

I have a Problem, i have a wired Studio environment and i need Kontakt to support Networking but it does not - other than what NI guys say...

so look at the picture and tell me where the network drive is...

second: if I try to load the samples via "load" then I come so far to choose the network drive and the files i want, but i cant laod them - error message comes: "unknown error occured.. bla bla"

i hope this is only a big bug!
i hope networking in implemented in kontakt

    hopefully

Network drives will show up in the brower, although you may need to view the drive in Windows Explorer first (i.e. open the connection)

Did you try checking "Show Network Drives" in the Options?

yes i tried to switch it on, and then off, and again on while havin the explorer with the network drive open...didn´t help

there is still no sign of a network in kontakt

i don´t know what this is, but i think it is because i installed my network only by giving my network card an IP and te other on to the other pc´s network card - maybe i have to "install" something for the network - does anyone know furthermore?

    thanks

Yeah, I think that's something on your end. I can freely switch "Show Network Drives" on and off, no problem. Kontakt has always read the network drives here at work. I wish I could suggest something, hopefully some IP Wizard here can offer some tech-advice.

    Good Luck!

    it wont work again...

i have a Relatek RTL8201BL Lan PHY chip on the mobo

on the other side, in the notebook i have a "Via Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter"

all the network just works fine, even cubase has newer mentioned any problems with it...so are you sure this problem is on my side of things?

No! I'm not sure! I'm just saying that Kontakt has never been weird with networks over here. It gets flakey with AKAI CD-Roms sometimes, but never the network drives. You should talk to NI Support, if you haven't already.

    wohoo

    it works

i had to install a virtual drive - "network drive" in the network settings - this feature is normally used to get quicker access to network folders or drives - kontakt doesnt show the network environment but it shows this virtual drive, which is actually my network drive - and yes, I can load samples off it!

    thanks to all!

Top man. This sorted out my problem with this as well. Just right click 'my computer' & select 'map network drive'
