No NI_Komplete_2_keyfile.xml

    I am writing here out of total exasperation with Native Instruments.

    I have been begging all week via the support request form, for NI to send me the Keyfile that was never generated upon re-registration of Komplete 2 after a system crash, and have still heard nothing.

    The pending time-bomb of a problem? I have a feature score to bounce down, and now, it is starting to cost me massive amounts of money all because of this rediculous situation.

    I cannot believe, considering all the complaints I have read here on this forum about registration issues, that there is STILL NO WAY to re-generate the infamous key-file if it is A:) missing or B:) not emailed upon registration.

    And this is the second time that a key file didn't get emailed to me on registration to boot!

    It is nothing short of shocking to me that native instruments would be willing to treat their worldwide customers with such disregard.

    Would someone please please please please respond to me if they read this post. If I haven't gotten a keyfile in the next few days, I'm going to have to re-score scenes in 2 movies that are in the computer as we have to bounce them down urgently, and it is goimng to look incredibly unprofessional.

    Believe me, if this happens, I will take every opportunity that presents itself to me, to tell every composer in Hollywood at every opportunity how utterly pathetic the service is at this company. I read on one of the forum postings that someone suggested contacting the attorney General about this, and I guess I will end up doing this as well.

    Why am I so disolusioned? I put a lot of faith in these plugins, and this company, and now I could be facing a massive career backstep because of looking incompetent, and this is all because this companies so called 'customer service' appears to go missing when a solid customer comes calling in need.

    Once again, I ask.....PLEASE HELP ME.

    Hi guys and thank you both for the suggestions. I will try those numbers. Would you believe it, the last time I tried to install Komplete 2 , I also didn't get an authorization number, and actually walked into the office on Hollywood Blvd, and not a soul in there would deal with me because they said they didn't deal with customer issues there, only through the site! So, it will be interesting on the phone to see if the office in Hollywood have a different opinion now.

    Thank you for your suggestions, consideration and thoughtfulness in trying to help me out!

    Damn - I have the same problem. Over the weekend I loaded K4 onto my new notebook and then missed intakt and kompakt - So I thought - let me install them off K2 ----- And Again I am not able to load K2 - the registartion key sent back is Blank.

    I was one of the people NI scr#$%wed over during the last easter weekend when the registration system suffered it's first giant crashed. I had huge deadlines and no registration or support.

    Even if they offer MORE free stuff this just isn't good enough

    NI Please fix it TODAY and respond to my support request TODAY.

    I have the same problem (empty Komplete 2 keyfile after registering Komplete 4). I was in contact with NI over the phone and via a support request. The last thing I heard from them was on 11/30:

    momentan funtioniert das nicht. Wir arbeiten daran und sollten das Problem bis nächste Woche gelöst haben. Viele Grüße! Matthias

    Which in English means: "Right now, Registering Komplete 2 does not work, we are looking into it and it should be fixed next week."

    I tried to activate yesterday (12/10) again, and the keyfile is still empty (only header and footer, no product data).

    So it looks like they didn't fix it "next week".

    At least apparently they are working on it...

    I got the blank keyfile thing too--several times. Fortunately I found my old keyfile and it worked. Whew!

    it's been 4 days and still no fix or even a support reply.

    I get so go^%amned p&^%sed when people I know with cracks laugh at me for being legal!

    And they just keep laughing - endlessly it seems

    NI please make the lauging stop!

    Been facing the same problem here for over a month now. I've mailed registration support (Request no. RS138061) several times about it. They take what I consider an unreasonably long time to reply. The first time they asked me why I even wanted to reinstall Komplete 2 in the first place as I'd been given K4 (For compatibility with my old projects of course! Besides, there are many Kore sounds that require the older plugs like Kompakt and Intakt).
    All I want is my keyfile! The system keeps spitting out blanks. A quote from their last reply to me on the 30/11 - "unfortunately it´s currently not possible to activate the Komplete 2 products that are not included in Komplete 4. This will be fixed within the next days."
    Days? It's been two weeks and I got another blank keyfile after trying today. For those of us running commercial operations, this is an embarassing and unacceptable situation. My major regret in all this is allowing myself to be dependent on so many NI plugins. The stuff's good, but it ain't worth going through this for. To top things off I'm in a time zone 12hrs away from the US so calling support and being put on hold is not a time and cost friendly option for me.

    Another day, another keystone cops special.

    Someone actually sent me the registration number back as my response to waiting for a week and a half for help! The SAME ONE that you can see on your 'registered products' page any time you want, the same one that I emailed to them at THEIR request for all the details about the problem... and the response was ' oh here is your number. Hope that helps!"

    My email response was "you are kidding me right?"

    Well, they now want the URL that I get when I run the registration program as if it gives some magic info that they do not already have, and guess what? I now suddenly get an error when the registration DVD tries to send its info to the site.....

    What bugs me is that I've already registered at the bloody site, so what the F$%# am I being asked to do this for again? They are turning out to be one bunch of muppets as my friends back in Ireland always refer to fools like these as.

    I am now 2 weeks overdue with a project, and as one of you pointed out, yes.... we need komplete 2 because of legacy projects.....by the way, how stupid is that? You would think they would make the new versions of the plugins (like most other manufacturers do) backward compatible so that this **** would not come up.

    The level of stupidity of this company is incredible. I think it can't get any worse at my peril, for daily they top themselves on stupidity and worsening customer service.

    I caught someone pointing out that they seem more interested in copyright protection than in allowing us the ease to use the plugins that we have paid hefty sums of money for, and now I am starting to take that point of view, because frankly I am afraid to use the plugins in my current cues because I can not run the risk of being fined anymore, as these morons have already cost me more money than the plugins are valued at.

    I'm going to give them a bit longer, but really....if they don't get there act together, it might be worth our while to take a class action lawsuit against them to make them actually do their job and let us use our plugins. There seem to be an awful lot of disolusioned people here who would like to see the company do what they promise... just a seriously evolving thought....

    Either way, I think they are in line for reporting to the attorney general and the consumer reports guys at least. I don't really have a lot of sympathy for them, as they are selling a product, and should have all this stuff together. As a former programmer, I look at a lot of the registration issues they have and see ways they could speed it up ina heartbeat if they chose to, but they don't..... so they show their lack of caring for their users in making that choice....

    So the wait continues, the lack of responses continue, the losses continue in my case.... I now officially have to re-write some cues, much to the ire of my bosses....if NI cost me a working relationship with my director, they are definitely going to be hearing the word attorney more often from my lips.

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH..... all they have to do is listen to our plight and fix the damn thing...

    All they really have to do is hand out NFR serials of all the old instruments in Komplete 2, but for some goddamned reason they are going to 'fix' the problem on some random timeline.
    Basically we are losing hours of work because NI are too prideful to just fix the problem quickly by circumventing the Komplete license issue. the guy at tech support started moaning about all the system changes etc. that add up to a registration problem like this, and I have to say I simply do not care, period! What does it matter why the problem exists if in fact it exists, and there is a relatively easy solution that will fix it?

    I have to say this whole Komplete 4 Complete care 06 upgrade debacle couldn't have had more snags in it if they tried? right now I don't feel any sympathy at all for them though, I site here with no registration for Absynth 2, which is in a large amount of my work....

    That's what really annoys me about the dramas going on with NI at the moment.

    They're only happening because NI has decided to try to cut down on piracy of their plugins.

    In other words, NI decided they wanted to make more money, so implemented a system which has restricted (or in many cases curtailed) their legitimate users' ability to do their work.

    As Machines pointed out - all they need to do to make 99% of the problems disappear is to provide serial numbers and a means of registration for those of us who still haven't received their upgrades, or can't get them registered.

    Maybe the most annoying part is when NI tech support start crying foul over how much more work this has generated for them. NI were the ones who implemented this broken system; it's up to them to pay for the support staff to clean up the mess. Whining to your customers for your own mistakes is not a solution that is going to help anyone.

    Over the past week I have sent 3 support requests relating to this issue.

    The fact they don't even bother to reply is just not acceptable. I'm soooooooo tired of this.

    Lets hope they actually commit to completing this before they all up and leave for holiday like the last time.

    I just tried registering Komplete 2 again (multiple times from different computers). This time, I got the message that the server encountered an error, my session was terminated, and I am asked to forgive the inconvenience.

    Not good!!

    I tried again today (19 December) , maybe I was a bit cocky, a bit over optimistic, but when I tried to register and got this:

    "An error has occurred
    A serious server-related error has occurred. The session has been ended and our webmaster has been automatically informed about the problem. Please excuse this inconvenience."

    I seriously lost my cool.

    What will to take to get this some problem fixed. It worked for 2 years now its broken - GO BACK TO THE OLD REGISTRATION. Is it that hard to figure out and fix!!!!!

    When I am so frustrated I always find it best to look for a silver lining and laugh. In this case I have a bet with my wife, I bet the "webmaster" they refer to above will contact me before the "support" people who after three weeks still have not had the decency to at least return my support requests.

    NI this is not acceptable, I stand by this and I hope you have the decency to correct this NOW.

    Hi all,
    just how ridiculous can this get? Today I was finally able to download a keyfile.xml again, only to be told by the komplete2 installer that the file is again invalid.
    I checked the content of the file, and although the program list and serial #s are there now, the "SYSTEMID" and "KEY" values are empty for the products that require them like Absynth2, Kontakt, Reaktor4, etc. I compared the file to an older keyfile for a different system ID.

    So we're basically back to square one...

    My patience is vaning...
