I was making a beat with Maschine and assigned my Virus TI Snow to a pad as a plugin. When I got ready to do a quick reference bounce I realized there was no way to do it in real-time which is necessary with the Virus (or any external device).

It would be nice to have this option instead of having to sample the part.

If there's a way to do a real-time bounce, excuse me for my ignorance.

Indeed. I normally use Maschine as a plugin within Logic so realtime bounce is never a problem in that scenario.

Also. Very nice stuff on your soundcloud page. However there's a typo in the link. the "3" should be an "e", right?

mainly made in maschine, concepts done in maschine, sounds, beats everything.
    Layed out in Ableton live.
    Mixed down in Cubase 5.
Tomorrow I will do some Re-Edits because I get my analog summing box inclusive new soundcard.

If you like my stuff comment it and follow me ;)
I would be really glad :)

Little Drummer is out on Beatport.

I hope the suggestion helped the Topicstarter

What's the difference between sampling and a real-time bounce?

Thanks for the question. You helped me figure it out. It never occurred to me to just sample the entire track. Then I can go to export audio and select just the Sound.

So this is what I figured out concerning this: I sampled my external sound-source for the duration of the sequence. In this case it's a Virus TI Snow. I went to the export audio menu option were I saw the newly created file listed. I selected it, waited for the export, then quit Maschine. When I imported that new file into Pro Tools, all that was there was a blank 3 min. long audio segment.

If you don't actually program your sampled wave into the sequence then exporting that recording will result in a blank sound file. However I fished around and found the actual sound file I sampled in a folder located at Documents>Native Instruments>Maschine>Projects>Recordings. Importing that file into Pro Tools worked.

To sum up if you need to do a real-time bounce, sample the entire track, then fish the recording out of the "Recordings" bin. Don't bother with the exporting sound option. I still would like to have "Real-Time Bounce" as a menu option.

Thanks for the follow-up. That's good information. You can rename your samples to something meaningful so they are easier to fish out later. What I'd really like to see in Maschine is an External Instrument that contains both an audio input and a MIDI output on the same pad.
