Can someone help me with accessing the sample edit window on the Komplete Kontrol Mk2? Is there a way to do this? I just can't believe it's not available when using Komplete Kontrol.

It is available - just switch to edit view (top menu/view/edit view or ctrl 3)

I think you misunderstand me. I'm not looking for the mixer view. What I'm trying to do is access the sample edit window on the Komplete Kontrol hardware keyboard.

Sorry I misread the title and thought you were referring to the Kontakt sample editor.

Not available AFAIK. They want you to buy both and use both. I think they're missing out on a big market of people who would happily chop samples on the KKMK2. I've got both a KK MK2 and a Maschine MK3; inability to chop samples can be very irritating at times.

That's some BS. I'm a keyboard guy. I have Maschine software but no controller. This is why I purchased Komplete Kontrol mk2. Native instruments this is really unacceptable. Why would you make every other function available and leave out the ability to edit samples right from the controller?

Probably not enough buttons and knobs available on the KK to accommodate all of the sampling features.

The best controller for Maschine software is Maschine hardware. That should've been obvious from the get go.

Interesting observation; how does it stack up to the Mikro MK3? Cat is well and truly amidst the pigeons.

I know nothing about this new Mikro. It was built to act like a regular Maschine system.

It's only got one encoder though; I think there's a lot more scope for sample chopping on the KKMK2 than on the Mikro MK3. Weirdly.

Yeah, there's no way to view the sampling window on the KK MK2. I got this keyboard thinking that it'd be total integration with Maschine SW too but it's not quite there. I think NI could eventually add these features with later software updates even though it's unlikely they will. My big complaint was not having the ability to step or scrub through your patterns like on the Maschine MK2 with the step arrows, and they haven't "fixed" that yet either. I think if you're really into sampling and whatnot it's wiser to get a Maschine and maybe a cheap MIDI controller if you want a keyboard.

Too late now. But it does make me wonder why NI is including Maschine Essentials with the A series Komplete keyboards. Should I be hopeful they'll integrate more Maschine features?

I'm not sure if that really indicates any new features are coming. A lot of people were upset with NI when they found out the KKMk2 didn't come with Maschine and NI didn't sell the software by itself. This didn't effect me because I already had Maschine, but I could totally see where others were coming from. NI heavily advertised that keyboards workflow with Maschine software, so people assumed it'd come with it, or at the very least be sold without the hardware. I'm guessing including maschine and expansions on the K12 is N.I apologizing to all the consumers who felt burned.

Essentials are usually a watered down version of a particular software. They usually give you the option to pay for a full upgrade.
