Just installed Traktor Pro 2 for use with the Kontrol S2, it works perfectly besides the fact that no sound is coming from the headphone output. I know this isn't a hardware issue since I'm able to get sound from the headphone jack by changing audio preferences in the settings.

My computer is setup with an external M-Audio Audiophile USB soundcard in Windows XP 32bit SP3, and here's how things are connected:

    PC ->
-> Audiophile (USB) -> Main Output to Speakers (RCA)
-> Kontrol S2 (USB) -> Main Output to Audiophile Input (RCA)

My computer displays 2 soundcards, the Audiophile and the Kontrol S2.

By default Windows uses the Audiophile to process all audio, which works nicely besides the Traktor headphone issue.

If I try to change the Traktor Pro 2 audio preferences to use the Kontrol S2 soundcard, it will process audio to the Headphone output, but no sound will come out of the speakers. I'm guessing this is because it's not sending any audio to the Audiophile which is actually connected to the speakers.

If I try to set my Windows soundcard to Traktor S2, there is no sound whatsoever. Most likely because my speakers are plugged into the Main Out of the Audiophile and not the Main Out of the Kontrol S2.

Is there anyone out there who knows any settings or changes I need to make to be able to use both the Audiophile and Kontrol S2 togheter? I'd hate to have to replug the cables each time I want to use Traktor...

Here's how the soundcard looks with all it's inputs and outputs.

I'm pretty sure I could eliminate the problem by getting rid of the Audiophile, as the Kontrol S2 has a built in audio interface. But I'd really like to continue using my Audiophile ASIO driver for music production and not have to turn on the Kontrol S2 everytime I want to use the computer.

you will have to use the headphones out on the audiophile and map it on the audio routing menu

There's no option for this, I'm only able to map either Audiophile analog L/R and the S/PDIF L/R :|

either use the s2 or the audiophile in traktor. there are ways to use both at the same time via ASIO4ALL but you really don't wanna go down that route.

get a small mixer so you don't need to switch the speaker cabling every time.

Ok guys, I solved my problem with a supercheap bit of hardware:

    Simple 4-way RCA Switch.

Now everything works as designed, might be time to consider an upgrade of the USB Audiophile though.

Thanks for all the help ;)
