In Ableton Live 9.6 and with Reaktor 5.9.2 with Monark I made this patch and I saved it out as a preset from the factory ensemble, where it wasn't saved, just part of the Live project data. I then updated a new project in Live with the track from the original project and saved it. It played back correctly before saving, but when I reload it the preset is gone.

So I attempt to open the preset and now I get this dialog:
How can I fix this and get this preset back? It seems to me it should be able to reproduce this as the original Ensemble is still there. If I had to save the patch in the Ensemble why would I even need to make a preset file?

My end objective is to open one of my personal Ensembles and move the preset to there, but I need to be able to load it once at least. I don't know how Native Instruments were thinking when they let the preset system grow into this.

So the proper way seems to be to put the snapshot in a bank and then export this to re-import it when in another ensemble. This works.

Sorry to ressurect such an old thread. I am encountering the issue of the title that this thread references.

I get that error message when I attempt to checkout different NI expansion packs (specifically Monark sounds) like Deep Matter, Motor Impact etc. When I navigate to Deep Matter folder for instance from Reaktor browser and select a sound I always get "No Valid Reference to Ensemble in Preset Data".

Stock installation, never changed file paths.

@MikaelByström is what you're saying the way we are supposed to checkout each of the Monark sounds from the expansion packs?

VGL, what is if you double click a preset from 'Deep Matter' or 'Motor Impact'?

Erm - the last update for Monark is R6. If you want to load presets saved with R6 in the old version of Monark in R5 it mayhaps gave a message that it isn't valid.

Thanks Paule, I was hoping for a response from you.

When I double click on a preset from Deep Matter is when I get the "no valid reference to ensemble in preset data"

Currently I am using Monark in Reaktor 6 (6.4.0) and Monark is v1.3.1 (macOS Mojave 10.14.6)

The Snapshots in Monark are working for you?

I don't you presets - ever using snapshots.
A double click on a snapshot bank don't works to start Monark.

Why don't you use the inbuilding snaps? It's easier in the full version.

I have never used Reaktor in this way (snapshots). In my search to find a fix for the issue of "no valid reference to ensemble in preset data" I keep coming across the term snapshot. I want to give this a try!

I am able to get my Reaktor to the same screen as yours. How do I add Monark sounds from each of the expansion packs into User Bank or User. Which "user" or user bank" is the proper placement?

    Thanks for your help!

Also one more question. Is this "snapshot" the right way to load Monark sounds from the expansion packs? Or do I have some kind of file/folder path issue going on and this is an easy fix?

It seems you should be able to just cruise through the presets after navigating to them through the browser and not receive the "no ensemble in preset data"

Only if the suffix is 'ssf' for snapshot file.
I can't help you as I never own an expansion.

The ens FORM comes with presets only.
My converted ssf are in UL.
    upload_2020-9-8_18-34-23.png
FORM presets are in 'Public Docs' >> Form >> Presets.
Do it works if you copy your Monark presets to 'Public Documents' >> Monark >> Presets?
Are the presets authorisized by Native Access or do you got them from a friend?

I guess the snapshot way won't work for the Monark sounds inside the expansions since they are .nrkt, NOT .ssf

Form has some cool sounds, the presets work fine for me though, I don't need to convert those to snapshots.

Tried putting the Monark sounds (.nrkt) from Deep Matter in the Users/myname/Documents/Native Instruments/User Content/Monark and still get the same error message. Yes Authorized by Native Access.

So I'm still at a loss on how to load these .nrkt files without getting the no valid reference to ensemble preset data

PS on a side note I was able to install an older Monark library I had that I could never figure out because it was a .ssf file. Now I know how to add .ssf, thanks Paule!
