Is the only way to do this by saving a pattern to my user library? lol

someone tell me I'm not trippin!

I'd like to take a pattern of samples, copy them to a new group (track) and filter them to make a bassline.

Since we can only have one pattern per group playing at a time, groups effectively become tracks in a way.

I guess I cold resample it and put it on a pad and filter it that way...

I can't believe I can duplicate a group but not the pattern in it...

    what am I missing?

    don't really get it , u can't copy and paste groups ?
what i do to duplicate patterns between sounds(works between different groups as well as for effekt adjustments ) is a workaround with hard - and software....
highlight notes ---> drag with mouse while pressing crtl, sound should duplicate now---> switch to empty pad with hardware , keep sounds dragged----> drop.... done,

thanks, sounds like a workaround but that's just embarassing that you can't do it from the hardware. If I can copy a group/kit it should copy the pattern or give me the option to do so.

simple things like this let me know they did not consult hardware based producers at all.

i'm with you guys. i still dont get the point of copying kits or sounds without copying its notes.

maybe they wanted to avoid notes being created/copied in other patterns than the currently active one, to not confuse users. but then again, why cant we just use the select button in conjuction with the copy and paste buttons to manually copy what we want where we want? the only thing we can do with them at the moment, is copying that notes into the same sound but one step later. pretty pointless, if you ask me...
if i want to duplicate the notes in a pattern, i just hit double and dont have to nudge them in position manually.
    what were they thinking?

this works, thanks, it's a workaround...but if I want to get "lost in the flow" we need to be able to copy like this from the controller.

We can copy groups, just not the notes. Like the kit load button, they need to give us a button that will enable us to copy the group with or without the notes, because I would use both options.

When building up drum parts I'd just copy the kits to the next group, but when doing some other types of work or wanting to make a bassline match a melody, I'd like to copy the notes.

but this one works pretty cool, right click on the pattern, hit group, then point to the pattern slot you want to drop it in.

But again, the draw of maschine for many of us is that I can use it hands on and not mess with the mouse/computer....

this is just a small step that puts a kink in the workflow chain.

but thanks for letting me know.

Hit the "Select" button. Then hit one of the top buttons--I believe it says "All".

Then do a copy from the controller.

    Then switch groups.

    Select your pattern.

Then do a paste from the controller.

I tried that select option before I posted this, but I didn't see a way to copy then paste them in another group.

    UPDATE: OH SNAP

I see the copy/paste on the pads...dang! lol.

    lemme go try this lol.

This select all/copy/paste isn't working for me.

Like i said I tried the select all method first, but I'm not able to get it to copy, then paste.

    Pushing shift/copy

going to my desired group, then push shift/paste

    nothing.
