    Hi folks
As a noob to Maschine, MK3 which I bought as it looked like the perfect production package given the audio interface, I am considering the intro discount offer for a Noiiz subscription. Bought my first expansion ( Sierra Grove) using the voucher but it still cost me Aust$40. Based on that this subscriber model seems to be good value, especially considering I get to keep all downloaded sounds after lapsing subscription. I know this model has been used by various software companies. My question is, I guess, does anyone here have any experience with this company and if so how do you rate them?
I am a long time musician with some formal music education and a reasonable grasp on several DAWs but little experience on music production/arrangement in a loop based environment.
    OH one other question too;
I realise that the 'Chord' pad section is not editable but I'm wondering if there is a work around possible where, given I have changed the key of specific pads using the "semitone up/down buttons" if it is not possible to copy/paste (resample?) those sounds to pads in a new group?
If that makes sense. Sorry, very new to this but I know what I want.
I do a lot of Jazz based stuff where some of the Chord groups have maybe 3 or 4 voicing that I want and maybe a couple more that work if I transpose them.
I would like to be able to save edited chord backs for future use.
OH and in reference to the MK3 being the perfect beginner's platform, so far it IS.

You can change keys in Semi Tones +/-. Using Chords will utilize the chosen scale. I many times change up the particular Chord for instance on multiple patterns or the same pattern. If you want to extend to various inversions you will need to edit the Midi Notes in the Edit window of the pattern. I do this all the time and its quite easy. Hope this helps. So yes the Chord function is not directly editable but the Midi notes are. I would suggest if you want editable Chords for future use you consider Chithulu. However you will need to load that into something like Blue Cat Patchwork which is what I use to enable Serial Processing of various VST's within the same Group and Instance. I do what some have called ChillJazz. So I completely understand where your coming from.

    Thanks for the prompt reply
Yes I know how to edit the chords for immediate use but I want to create and save edited chord banks/pages? probably as a Group. Is this possible?
As to the apps (?) you mentioned I think I would be getting a bit far out of my depth. One new thing at a time. LOL.
I'm 64 and if you think that's old my vocalist is 84.
Glad to hear you share my taste in music though
I have described it as 'Ambient Groove' in the past.

Sorry I am not sure you can save that as a Group.

I don't know but I will experiment myself. I thought I should be able to sample each chord pad, i.e.; 16 chords that work together in a particular key (or combination of keys for use in a single song) and save each sampled sound as a "sound", loading them into 16 pads in a "user" group.
Just an aside on that point. I notice there are mostly only 12 chords with 4 empty pads. Is there a reason for this?
A messy work around I know but at least once done it could be saved for future use.
I do feel that the very limited scale options, (no Mixolydian, Dorian, Lydian etc) and the lack of user chord patches is a big limitation. On that point who but the most hard core Jazz musician is going to use Whole tone or Diminished half whole and whole half scales? I would have thought Mixolydian would be far more commonly used. I assume it is a limitation in the software rather than the hardware and if I am correct in this assumption it is something I will add to the request list for future updates.

Yes. You can resample anything in Maschine. Just go to the Sampling Menu and select Internal as the source, you can then sample "what you hear" and slice/edit the wavs and have them in Pads.

Thanks D-One. Kind of what I figured. Of course these sounds would only have the sound recorded rather than midi chords but useful none the less.

Yep as D-One stated. You can resample and save as Scale Kit. But yeah not as useful as Midi Info.
