What I would like is a feature that automatically snaps the note length to the grid, so I don't have to do it manually with the mouse anymore.

And I would like to be able to change the length of the selected note(s) from the controller with one of the knobs.

Do you mean transposing the selected note(s)?

you can do that since v 1.5.
go to step mode, hold the step you want to change and turn the tempo knob to set the note number for that particular step.

+1 for note length at the hardware!

absolutely! i really can't understand why ni "forgot" this BASIC parameter.

the HEART of maschine is it's sequencer! What does a sequencer? right, it's setting notes! and which parameters are important to describe a single note? right: pitch, velocity & note length! only 3 parameters - and ni only took care of two? hmmm...

btw: the momentary "single step editing" could be muuuuch more better:
when pressing/holding a pad/note, the MAIN parameters (velocity, pitch, note length, time) of this note should directly appear in the display to have IMMEDIATELY the overview of this single note. at the moment you have to turn the appropriate knobs one time to know it's values. how complicated is that? it's absolutely more easy to have this 4 parameters directly in the display (so you can compare each note easely) and if you like, you change it by the lower encoders!

PLEASE NI... IMPLEMENTATE NOTE LENGTH! ... at least in that "complicated" way you did it with velocity, pitch & time!
