i see what you are saying but in some ways Keir's Statement does give the answer:

basically they are not different product generations.

if NI had released the Massive update as Massive 2, it would have been a different product generations.

Kontak5 is a different product generation and so can have a Sound saved as a Kore ksd.

hmm, yes and no i believe the AU plugin is also the same product generation and it works ok, so there must be something else connected too ;)

But Kore never used AU as its engine.

Perhaps NI should just make Massive, Absynth and FM8 completely new product generations and get it over with, then we can at least use them as normal plugins even if not as engines anymore.

    Thank you Keir.

Is Kore Player being updated too?

And you know what my other question is... ;)

    Oh great...

I'm not about to jump thru hoops to make an obsolete product (KORE) integrate into my workflow. I'll NOT be upgrading to K8. In fact I'll be dropping all NI products except Reaktor.

No good if when it loads it can't also save as a ksd. It needs to be loadable and savable.

Seems to me that any suggestions we have made on this since the start have been completely ignored, so I don't think kore users hold any weight whatsoever

i am probably being naive, but i am not giving up entirely with this:

Well I'll stay optimistic and hope this will happen and I'll be able to save and load the new format presets as Kore .ksd's. If it does, then Komplete 8 will get a purchase. If not I'll stay with Komplete 7.

The updated Massive works perfectly as AU. Loading a koresound of a "new" preset saved using the AU version loads the engine. So Apple users have an advantage this time. Many nice things are windows only ;)

Am I correct that the new installers still install koresounds or did I still have them in the default folder? That's weird?

However, I'll stick with this: NI sold Kore saying "it loads any plug-in" and "it's the perfect companion and integrated browser of Komplete". Make true that promise.

Has everyone seen Shawshank Redemption? Well if you have you know two things you need to talk to the person with the most power and if you want books youwrite a letter everyday. If we can somehow get the email address of the one who makes choices we should all email him a uniform email that states exactly what we want and need in kore before it is no longer developed. We should send them the email religiously every day till we get what we need.

Now all we need is that email address.

to be honest, that has never worked with NI - do you think users have not tried that before during the last 15 years?

If NI find a way to bypass the IE wouldn't that solve the all problems. Am I overlooking something?

    Best regards

Yes - it would still need to ability to enable saving as a ksd - currently even when you do bypass the IE versions (there are various ways of doing that) Kore still can't save a ksd using it. I think this is because Kore always used the IE to do the saving but the new versions have that functionality disabled in some way.

    1-2 questions..

K7 does not work with Kore anymore?

(if K7 is installed and updated with Service-Center)

I have the old updates backed up....
But what, if someone has not?

edit: What i think is very confusing:
K8 here, K8 there...but what is with K7?..which has alot of exact the same products..

hmm...sounds like a relatively easy task for the programmers to fix that when doing the bypass thing. Lets hope they do that. Maybe Kier would confirm that the programmes are looking for a solution for the save as ksd as well. That would be nice to know an certainly calm things down a bit in here....

Yes...and the hope also will calm people down.
Which stinks, because it smells like a tactical-move by NI.->Further delay of clear info.

Komplete 7 before September 1st should work with no problems.

Komplete 7 after Sept 1st - if you have updated Absynth, FM8 and Massive - problems with those plugins, as described elsewhere on this thread.
